I have a wedding to attend at 5pm draft day. Am I correct to assume that 1st rd will be done by then?

32 first round picks.
15 mins each.
thats 8 hours.

Some teams go faster than that though.
But I think @ 5pm you'll be around 26 ish.

I was stuck at a wedding once during the draft.
Hated it.
Which is why I put the nfl draft on my calendar and tell anyone a year in in advance I wont be able to attend events on the date of the draft.

I do the same thing. I am supposed to go to a work outing, and they haven't decided if it will be on April 27th or 28th. I already told them I was "going out of town" for the 28th, so I wouldn't attend on that day ;)

Postpone the wedding!

worse case scenerio bring a small radio with a headset and do that.
Make sure to pack extra batteries.

what kind of man gets wed on the day of the draft anyway?
Not to consult local sports teams schedules in your wedding plans is downright selfish I say.

We know we get dragged to most weddings anyway. So why get dragged to it and miss an event of significant importance??

You won't see a wedding on the eve of the Oscars or American Idol that much I do know.

Think TIVO!

I'm really hoping for 2-3 trades among the top 10 this year. That should tack on an extra half hour to the first round.

Will have take a small radio and sit in the back where no one can notice. It's a Beach wedding so maybe/hopefully It'll rain and the whole thing will get moved indoors by huge screen tv showing the draft.

Well said.
You will be THE ONLY person there wishing for rain.
But if I was you, I'd be right with ya.

Small radio... with headphones... ipod type headphones.
you can insert only 1 earpiece...
Refrain from cheering or booing, booing is looked down upon during weddings.

And also, if you can wear some sort of socially acceptable hat during the wedding it will go a long way to hide your earpiece.

But most importantly keep it real by staying true and dedicated to your football team! :rocker:

A long time. Count on at least 5 hours for sure.

How would trades add to the time required for the first round?

It seems like every year gets longer and longer. It's cool though because it only comes around once a year.

Usually teams that are trading use up the entire 15 minutes. While teams that aren't trading or listening to trades get their card up fairly early; unless Minneasota is involved.

First round seems to average about 6 hours every year...

Sounds like a new product and fashion line is in order, wide-brimmed hats with veils and mini-projection TVs for sports fanatic gentlemen and ladies who wish to monitor the action during routine social events.
