I Think all of these guys will bust or at least not live up to the first round hype they have been given.

My pick for the biggest bust is Tedd Ginn Jr.
He can't run routes and doesn't really have great agility, he has great straight ahead speed, he reminds me of a Bethel Johnson with more hype.

Anyways I hope The Pats stay away from all of these guys.:D

Penn State has a long history of NFL busts.

i dont see how Hall or Beason will be busts really. Hall is a very good corner..not a playmaker but hes very good and dont say he got beat by Jarrett..he didnt. He did get beat by Ginn but its hard to cover a speedster like him and its not not like he got beat over and over

Beason is a very good LB..i dont see him busting. Watch his game film and hes a sideline to sideline guy who will hit and play to the whistle

you can make good arguement about others. i dont see Poz as a bust unless he goes to a 3-4 where he doesnt belong really.

Ginn - hes improved each year after moving to WR..hes fast..decent hands and route running is developing but the potential is there.

Jarrett - only question is seperation..can he get any? If he can hes easily the 2nd best WR in draft.

Nelson - can he learn playbook..will he play run? His potential is high aswell but can he do it like he did in college but take a bigger beating?

my most likely bust is Ginn. He'll be a good player but not the hype he deserves. He'll be a great KR and PR but as a WR he will never be a true #1 unless he works on his game VERY VERY hard. I think hes got the biggest potential though and route running/hands can be worked on while speed cannot. Route running takes work and repetition while hands requires many hours at the jugs machine and catching with finger tips instead of palm(hands)

I've watched all of thier game film.
Hall is good but no where near a top ten pick.
I wouldn't trade Samuel for him.

He's not on the list...

JaMarcus Russell

I Agree Russell may be the biggest bust of them all, I would Defenitley take Calvin Johnson with the first pick,

I didn't put him on the list cuz he's not on the pats radar, and Qb's always have a good chance of busting anyways.

Can I vote "Brady Quinn"?

Griffen will be a good saftey and 8 blocked punts in his college career can't hurt his draft status.

I was debating between Poz and Jarrett but had to give the edge to Jarret because he looks like another Mike Williams. His teammate, S. Smith, might turn out to be the better receiver...

Penn State has a long history of NFL busts.

Get your facts straight. Penn State has a long history of NFL running back busts. Have you ever heard of Jack Ham? Well he is one of the best linebackers in NFL history, and a Penn State alumnus. He has called Posluszny the best Lb the school has EVER produced. Yea, the best LB that Linebacker U has ever produced.

I will be greatly surprised if Puz busts. If he does, everyone can use this thread to make me eat some crow.

2 words LaVar Arrington ;)

Two words: Tamba Hali. Drafted last year by the KC Chiefs

LaVar Arrington excelled in college because he was a physical freak who could dominate his portion of the game on skill alone. He had no discipline, and freelanced, making him an excellent LB based on his physical ability. This does not translate well to the NFL.

To compare Posluszny to Arrington is simply unfair. Pos has a strong work ethic, is extremely intelligent, and does what is needed for the good of the team (switching to MLB from OLB this past season, one of the main reasons for his drop-off in tackles). I think he would make a perfect Patriot, and I hope that BB/Pioli draft Tony Hunt from PSU too, because he would be a great compliment to Maroney. I agree that Penn State RBs have a history of busting, but just because Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington were busts does not mean every prospect from PSU will be a bust.

I wasn't comparing the 2. I was simply offering a PSU player of another position other than RB that became a bust. I actually like Tony Hunt as an early day two prospect for the Pats, but if his stock continues to rise he may be over valued.

Well, I can offer up a number of busts from any school. Robert Gallery from Iowa was a bust. Eli Manning from Ole Miss was a bust. Does that mean that Patrick Willis will be a bust? I'm not sure I am understanding your line of reasoning at this point.

For every bust, there is a player that didn't bust. It doesn't just happen at Penn State. OL Jeff Hartings went to Penn State. He played for a number of years for the Steelers. he wasn't a bust. I don't get where you are coming from

I'm on the Jamarcus Russel for one of the all-time (slighty lesser bust than Ryan Leaf, but not as good as Rick Mier)busts.

I watch about three SEC games a week, and this kid had NEVER, EVER made me think that he was even an NFL prospect, let alone the top pick in the draft. He has all the signs of a great bust:
surrounded by superior talent at both WR and RB
came out of nowhere, had one big game against a horrible defense.

I just do not see what everone else does, he is enourmous, has a tremendous arm, but lacks accuracy, and lord knows what is going to happen to him once NFL defenses start running different fronts and schemes at him.

Now, I have to save this somewhere, where I should have saved my Lawrence Maroney will be the Pats back of the future post from last year, so that if it comes true I can boast, or destroy it, if he becomes the second coming of Bart Starr.

Obviously PSU isn't the only school to have busts in the NFL. I'm simply offering proof that PSU is probably guilty of producing the most busts of any top collegiate program in recent memory.

Great minds....I said Russell will be a bust, and I had Maroney as NE's pick before the draft, too.
