I'm fine with it although there's some very interesting names there for us that are passed up. If Staley makes it that low, I would take him with one of our picks.

BTW, I don't take any mock that has Calvin at #4 seriously. I think he's going in the top two one way or the other. I know it's messy to project trades but flip flopping Detroit and TB makes it look better then take Gaines for Detroit at #4 - that's a pick I am very confident in.

I'll be stunned if Petrino doesn't push hard for Okoye at #8.

I agree with Dryheat, unles Landry is still on the board, the Falcons would take Okoye over Branch every day of the week.
According to Mel Diaper Jr., he thinks Branch could eat himself out of the NFL before doing anything productive.

Branch's drop is interesting to me, if he makes a surprising, yet possible, Wilfork type drop I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Belichick jumped on him, It's unlikely he'll drop that precipitously but he is dropping and Wilfork made it all the way to #21.

I would be interested to see if BB would jump on Branch at #24, if Branch fell that far.
I've thought all last year that Branch was the engine in the Michigan defense and that Harris was the most under rated performer on that defense and that Woodley, Burgress and company were vastly over rated.

I guess in BB's mind, you have to weigh the opinions of some of the draftniks, that Branch is lazy and over weight with what you see with your own eye balls on film.

One thing is fairly evident. Branch wore down as the season progressed and was out of gas by the OSU game. And just like CB Hall got tooled by WR's Jarrett, Smith and the local peanut vendor in the Michigan-USC bowl game, Branch got tooled by the USC center Kahil with help from the OG's as well.

Branch would need a year or two in the Woicik school of pain and torture before he could hold up fro a full 16 games.

What seems funny now is that Wilfork was considered too fat and a little on the lazy side when he came out too. I still think Belichick would jump on another top NT if he had one rated as such - I forget where I read that he was interested in trading up for Ngata last year had he dropped a little further.

Thanks to everyone that responded, I appreciate all the feedback!

I don't know if it is your feeling, and I don't direct this to LetsgoPats, but I begin to tired of mock drafts. Kind of an indigestion... he he

I think it's the time to see the real "mock" draft.

I would love to here all your feedback and thoughts, I greatly appreciate all of it. Thanks guy
I'm not enamored of your Pats' picks, but much of the rest of the mock is plausible. I think Branch slides to, at the earliest, SF. I expect Miami to go offense first, either trying to get up and take a QB or settling for a LT to keep Green and Culpepper alive. I'd also expect AZ to go defense first, though Thomas sliding would be a coup. Those were the major things that jumped out at me.
