Don't know if this has been mentioned already. I know there was a thread about this a while ago.

I am sort of surprised that he got put on the cover.

Wonder what he will represent in this year's version.

Hell I'm just glad it's not Brady!

Most people sure don't believe in curses, but Red Sox and Cub fans sure do, at least until 2004 for us, when Curt HAD to bleed on the mound to win one...

Also, with every player on the cover since 2000 there has been season ending injuries to that player, or multiple games lost during the season, tell me there is just coincidence in that, just IMO...

PD.

I don't know the details yet about the game. I was surprised myself. There were rumors that this year's game would concentrate on the D-backs, so a lot of people expected Champ Bailey to be on the cover. Having Vince instead might break their last 3 years pattern of having a guy represent the area of improvement (05-Hit stick on defense--Ray Lewis, 06-QB vision--McNabb, 07-RB controls--Alexander).

Vince is already cursed - He has Haynesworth and Pacman Jones as his teammates :D

HOLY CRAP!
I called it!!!

on february 20th i said either vince young or reggie bush

what sux is that means i dont really wanna take him in fantasy anymore :(

Well speaking of predictions, here is mine. I predict that Vince Young is going to be in for a rude awakening this year. Defenses will now have almost a full year in the can and will start to defend him. This isn't to say that he won't have plenty of highlight plays for ESPN to hype him.

I see a lot of Mike Vick in him, and defenses have caught up to Mike Vick, and although Vick gets plenty of time on SportsCenter, he isn't taking his team ANY WHERE.

Vince was the legit offensive ROY IMO. That was earned. However there was plenty of rookie mistakes that will be repeated this season, and we will really get to see what he has as a passer, not just a run threat. To his credit Young seems to have great leadership qualities, so he is way ahead of Vick in that area. However he still has to prove he can be an effective passer. So for that reason I think he will have a Sophmore slump and once again prove the curse of the Madden Cover still exists.

BTW- This doesn't mean I think he's the next Mick Vick. Vick is a loser, and Young isn't. But I do think that he will find things much more difficult for at least this coming season. I make NO predictions for his 3rd year.

The fact they chose him means that he must be related to the new features they will implement...

It's pathetic. Mine as well put my dog on there, that's about how smart Young is. Just sickening.
Wow. And you would know the level of his intelligence how exactly? By his supposed Wonderlic score? Do you know how little stock is actually put in that test?
Every interview I've seen shows Vince Young to be polite, respectful, and above all else thankful to be playing in the NFL. I think he is a great choice to be a representative of the NFL on the cover.
I do not understand why people choose to hate on him.
Oh and smart guy, it is "might as well", not "mine as well".

The "Get Spied All Season Long and Be Forced to Make Plays with Your Arm" stick?

It's not a bad choice really. Sure, he's not even close to being the best QB but it's about marketing and he's an exciting player to watch. Right now, there aren't many young players that sell more jerseys than Vince Young. He's a good kid too and has managed to keep his nose clean. I have no problem with the pick.

Exactly. VY sells jerseys. VY wins games. He was ROY for a reason. Tomlinson, Manning, and Bush have had cover deals with previous games. You want to be fresh and VY is a phenomenon who's just now being discovered outside Big XII country.

You seem to be taking this a bit too seriously.

Anyway we should just be happy its not someone on the Pats (I don't believe in curses but still...) What does it matter who's on the cover of a crappy game anyway?

According to PFT the new feature would be a Wonderlic test. ;)
