Thomas?
Welker?
Stallworth?
Other?

The next time I buy a jersey it will be #88 and the name on the back will be "Any Player".

Free agency sucks.

I cannot believe the number of fans out there that actually buy and wear these things. I can understand buying one, getting an autograph, and then framing it, but beyond that, ugh!

Yeah getting Mike Vrabel, Rodney Harrison, and Rosevelt Colvin was just awful.

You're lucky. I got Terry Glenn. *shudder*

Wait, I just figured out what you meant. Does everyone have to be so damn literal around here?!?

LOL I was just messing with you. I knew you didn't mean it that way.

I bought a Chad Jack jersey.I have a cool SB 36 Troy Brown. I got a Corey Dillon one too. I still wear the corey one as he is one of my all time Favorite RBs. the Chad Jack one seems to be a bad choice but I am not giving up yet plus when I am done with it I can give it to my cuzin her last name is jackson

I don't get it? What is wrong with wearing a jersey of your favorite player?

I can't put my finger on it, but somewhere, down deep in my gut, I just get the feeling that grown men shouldn't be wearing the name jerseys of other men.

It's always been a little weird for me. I do think its great for kids, teenagers - and especially hot chicks (hey, even not so hot chicks... its just cool to see so many girl football fans - and SMART girl football fans are especially cool) to wear player jerseys.

Just something about grown men wearing them that I find really weird.

Generally I just keep that to myself and accept it but every now and then I'll see someone sporting one somewhere - like the guy last week wearing a Curt Shilling jersey - and I'll blurt out across the room:

"Hey Curt! Curt Shilling!!!"

"Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were Curt Shilling - you're wearing his jersey afterall."

... and just generally goof on them. They don't get the joke of course - a few people in the crowd usually do as well and we all have a good chuckle.

But obviously I'm in the minority, as a lot of fans like to show they are fans (and I do wear my Patriots hats and Patriots shirts proudly) but I just wanted to get that off my chest (so to speak!)

Personally one of my favorite parts of gameday is putting on the jersey. That's the only time I wear one but it's all part of getting into it and I think it's a great way to feel part of Patriot nation. I think which player's jersey you choose to wear says a lot about what kind of fan you are. You know someone wearing a Vrabel knows his stuff. Nothing is more annoying that the girl with the children's Brady jersey that she got on sale for $11.99 at Marshalls just because she thinks he's hot, but I agree a girl with real football knowledge... that's hot. Whatever floats your boat. There are people out there dressing like knights and having fake sword fights (see role playing games), I think wearing a team jersey is far from strange even for grown men...

I guess I am safe then. I am a girl (woman!) and I wear Vrabel's jersey proudly on gameday! I love football, especially the logistics of the game. I love to analyze schemes and blocking patterns after a game is over. I watch replays of games constantly. It is obsessive! ;) Hey, gotta have some kind of hobby, right?

It is funny how guys are though. My husband thinks it is VERY cool that I love football just as much as he does. LOL

Oh, I think it is okay for kids, and maybe a bit sexy for a gal, but for a grown man? I'll pass. It's just not my style. But, in the end, to each his own.

You're certainly in the minority. Go to Gillette and 75% of the spectators will be in jerseys.

I've never bought a jersey, but it has to do with being cheap as much as anything.

Seeing guys wearing jerseys does not bother me.

Seeing people wearing jerseys of former Pats players now playing for another team (Ty Law, Adam, Drew, etc) DOES bother me. Either buy a new jersey or wear a different shirt, I says.

I tend to agree with you, with a couple of exceptions:

- in your own home on game day
- at a game
- when playing football

I believe you forgot:

- while doing the nasty

While I don't wear the named jerseys, it is for other reasons. They are expensive and I never get around to it. I almost never buy my own clothes. That's why I have a daughter and wife. Let them buy my clothes. They don't know a single football player so they can't buy me the named jersey. Plus the price tag would choke them.

I have massive Patriots gear, but $200 for a jersey is too much for a gift.

I passed on a Patriots necktie a few weeks back. I am still regretting that.

I have had these Jerseys: Jan Stenerud (I'm not kidding). I wish I still had it, actually as it was an actually worn by the player authentic jersey. It was way too big for me when I was a kid, but it was the smallest of the three jerseys a friend of the family got for my brother, sister and I. Me being the youngest got the kicker jersey.
Brisby (again not kidding). I have no idea what happened to that one either.
Grogan. I still have it, but don't wear it. I once bought a Van Halen Staing tour jacket for $80 in 1982. I never wore it because I thought it'd be cool to break it out years later. I broke it out and it was all discolored and faded. Not to mention it would look really geeky wearing faded black satin with a Van Halen logo on the back. Anyway, I am hoping the Grogan Jersey will just make me look cool when I finally decided I delay gratification long enough.
Marino (no, not kidding) I found this in a closeout bin long ago and bought it for my buddy. I never got around to giving it to the guy. I sort of just forgot I had it until it was time to make a clothing donation and out it went. I probably had this one the longest of all of them.

What % of those are fat, overweight beer bellies??

In Indy, it's 75% of that 75%

I know it's risky, but based on the players we draft in two weeks (less than!!!!), I might buy one of their jerseys. If it's Posluszny, I will buy that jersey the night of the 28th. After watching his entire career at school, which player would be better to get a jersey of than the Puz?
