According to the Sun Sentinel's Alex Marvez on Sirius Radio this am. Said the trade for Green will be complete this week. KC has come to the conclusion they'll only get a 5th for Green but the Dolphins don't have a 5th. Trade may be for 2 lesser picks or a swap of picks in a yet to be determined round.

Culpepper will go to oakland :\

i still remember every dolphin fan saying Chambers + Culpepper is nearly as good as Moss-Culpepper and saying hes better than Brady.

That was a crazy statement but in all fairness to Culpepper he never had a chance to prove it since he wasn't able to get healthy. Who knows if he'll ever be 100% again?

By the way Marvez did speculate that Oakland would be the perfect spot for Culpepper.

definatley a spot for Daunte

hes got Moss..and they seem to be leaning on Calvin Johnson so why not pick up a guy similar to russell? strong arm..good mobility..big size

Bummer. We always have trouble with Miami, but I figured if they still had Culpepper back there, we had a good chance to beat them twice this season. Green, as I recall, has always played pretty well against the Pats, although he looked terrible after returning from injury last year.

Everything I've been hearing over the past week has the Raiders moving back toward Russell with the first pick, saying they didn't want to make the mistake they made last year by passing on Leinart and Cutler. With Al who knows.

If it was a sure thing that D.P. could get healthy I'd say it was a no brainer.

I could see Culpepper going to Oakland. Then they can draft C. Johnson who is about the only true "can't miss" in the draft.

Do you guys really think Al Davis has the patience to deal with a rookie QB? No matter how much potential he has? I don't.

"Pretty solid sources" in the Raiders' organization reportedly say Calvin Johnson is atop the club's draft board by "a clear-cut margin."
This comes from ESPN's Len Pasquarelli; ESPN's Chris Mortensen said the same in a recent online chat. Pasquarelli contends the bigger debate is whether JaMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn is the top QB prospect.

This rumor has been going on since the middle of March. Link ?

Sure. Coming right up.

Now how do I link something I heard on Sirius Radio again?;)

Pat Kirwan and Vic Carucci were both saying on Sirius Friday that Russell would be the pick. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Honestly who could ever guess what Al Davis will do?

They made a mistake last year but this is different, taking a real good Safety is one thing - but taking the unanimous best player in the draft and best WR (when coming out) in years, is something else.

I'm a HUGE fan of not passing on the potentially great QB but I don't think I could pass on Calvin.

Adam Shefter says Davis wants Russell but that Johnson is #1 on their board (evidently not set by Davis) so it'll be interesting to see who wins that :)

i could guess. i predict he picks the 1 that will most likely screw up

I just can't see Davis's ego letting someone else make the decision on that pick. Unless they tell him the draft is the following weekend and just take him to a local mall that day and let him wander around.

Hey, my 100th post. Only took a year and a half.

So this has the same legitimacy as Moss to the Pats, Moss to the Packers ect.....

Maybe, but here's a link to Marvez's column this morning. Not as detailed as what he said on Sirius but close.

It shouldn't be much longer until quarterback Trent Green joins the Dolphins.

A source said Saturday the Dolphins are set to make another run at acquiring Green from Kansas City and a trade should be completed this week. The Dolphins and Chiefs were far apart in negotiations last month, but Green's desire to play in South Florida will likely push Kansas City to finalize a deal for a second-day pick in the April 28-29 draft.

The addition of Green would likely spell the end of quarterback Daunte Culpepper's tenure with the Dolphins. Culpepper, who is due to earn $5.5 million this season, didn't receive medical clearance to participate in this weekend's minicamp because of ongoing problems with his right knee.

Houston passed on Reggie Bush. I still can't believe that.
