Apparently Peyton was in town, confirmed from another thread, spent some time with the Tom and some of the other Pats.. file under boring off season, anyways nice to see Tom and the Boys out even if it was with Peyton..

There are some things that money can’t buy - like being a fly on the wall at Oishii in the South End the other night where Super Bowl XLI MVP Peyton Manning threw down his Mastercard to treat his arch-rival, New England Patriots [team stats] QB/QT Tom Brady [stats], to sushi and sake.

The Indianapolis Colts QB, who was in Boston doing his Reebok spokesjock thang, spent nearly two hours talking trash with Tom and Pats special teams titan Larry Izzo [stats] before heading over to the Big Papi party at Underbar.

The big boys, we’re told, chowed down on black cod with miso, toro tartare, hamachi with elephant garlic and lots and lots of Kobe beef maki. Which isn’t so surprising since good ol’ boy Peyton doesn’t seem like a raw fish kinda guy - unlike Tom, the Cali-bred, supermodel-dating metrosexual!

Did not say it was, it is what it is, boring off season news..

I don't care that they can be friends or not, it makes me puke to think of our Tommy hanging out with that Thing.

:(

I just don't think that Brady's a metrosexual.

Gotta believe that with a trio of Brady, Manning and Izzo out on the town that Izzo was the wing man.

My opinion of OffTheField Peyton has changed since the hilarious United Way SNL skit. I can't help it.

OnTheField Peyton still has my utmost loathing, however.

If you think about it, there are really no other active players who understand what these two guys have accomplished. They have set the standard of excellence at what I would argue is the most demanding position in major Sports, Manning for his stats and ring, Brady for his three rings. Aside from Bradshaw and Marino and Montana, who else gets their experience?

Active players.....Brett Favre, Kurt Warner. Both won SB's and they also won league MVP...which Tom hasn't done yet (but he should have once I think).

I think they both understand.

I'm partial to Staubach myself.

I think it's pretty cool that these guys are at least friends. IMO, the obsessed MB poster is more worried about where their guy will be placed in history than the guy himself. Sure, they probably both want to be mentioned with the legends, and sure, they are competitive on the field and hate to lose, but it is nice that they can at least keep things in perspective and respect each others game.

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't understand the concept of "metrosexual?"

Good taste. I just scheduled a meeting where I stipulated it be near where I live, except that for the right restaurant I was willing to drive quite a ways. When asked what the "right restaurant" might be, I gave two choices -- Oleana's and Oishii Sushi (I actually go to the one in Sudbury, but I figure the original one has to be at least as good).

Being Californians and hence getting lots of sushi, they picked Oleana's.

Wow, I lived in Sudbury with the beautiful people for a quarter century but never had the sushi. Maybe that's why I got ridden outa town.

Girly man, NOT to be mistaken for HOMOSEXUAL, as metrosexuals are straight.

"Girly" only in the sense of being extremely fashionable and pampering one's self w/skin lotions, hair products, and the like.
