Update: Bledsoe retired Wednesday, ending a 14-season career in which he made two Super Bowls, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation: You're getting old if you can remember when Bledsoe and Rick Mirer were neck and neck for the top pick in 1993, which went to Bledsoe. One could argue he had a Hall of Fame career, though perhaps it's even easier to say there weren't too many bright spots in his final seasons with the Bills and Cowboys. He was a very good quarterback with some very good seasons, but at some point the game passed him by and his immobility hurt his effectiveness. Bledsoe finishes with 44,611 yards (seventh all time) and 251 touchdown passes (13th) in his career.

wow, this is kinda sad
i remember that like it was yesterday
i was about to turn nine yrs old
i know im not old by normal standards
but athletes are younger than me now (im currently 22)
and players i once rooted for are retiring and going to the hall of fame etc
seriously, does this make me old?!?!

Just wait until Testeverde is the only player left who you can remember watching in college . . . like me (I just turned 40).

Old? I remember all the way back when Bullwinkle was rolling up yards for Whatsamota U.

I don't remember it so I know I'm still young.:D

Me too. I don't remember the Boston Redskins or the Boston Yanks, but I do remember when the Cleveland Browns were televised into New England because there were no Patriots. After two or three years of the Browns, the Giants games were televised. Finally, in 1960, the Patriots arrived. We still didn't get no respect, to quote another Rodney, as a lot of the Patriots games weren't on TV in the early years.

so, what you guys are sayin...im not old?

So I take it your avatar picture isn't you? :D

I remember Gino, The Babe, human bulldozer Jim Nance, and when Nick Buoniconti was a good guy. ;)

The avatar is the 1st grandaughter at age 2, two years ago. :)

I was little but I remember the Browns. Loved Jimmy Brown. Man did I hate as a kid having the NEW YORK Giants stuffed down our throats. The hype for Sam Huff. For ages the Jints were my most hated team. When the Pats started, I was an instant fan. The 4 decades of losing, ignomy and ridicule as the "Patsies" was hard to take at times. Gotta luv the 21st century!

LOL, yeah, I'd have been 9 or 10 at the time myself, and I can actually relatively vividily remember that draft day b/c at the time, I was a Notre Dame fan and really wanted the Pats to pick Mirer...good thing I was wrong!! It wasn't too long before I was a huge Drew fan.

Holy crap! That was me, too. My brother was/is a huge Gaints fan and I had to go another way. All we had on TV was NFL (no AFL). So Jim Brown, Andy Robustelli , Milt Plumb, Lou Groza and the Browns were my childhood idols. :rocker:

The Giants are still my #1 hated team and they always will be.

I have socks older than you

wow, i hope thats not true
would have quite a few holes in em

whats funny is i have pats boxers that i wear for every game that could be older than some posters in here (theyre 10 yrs old)

:ditto: My shameful past. I was a huge Giant fan when I was a kid. They were the only show in town on Sundays and idolized YA Tittle. Then the AFL came along and saved me.
