Just curious to hear people's thoughts on which 6 AFC teams will make it to the playoffs this year based on the new schedule. For what it's worth here's my picks:

Division
Patriots(13-3) - Brutal schedule, but still win the East!
Broncos(11-5) - I loathe these guys, but they will take advantage of coaching change in SD and capitalize on their own new FA signings.
Ravens(10-6) - I hesitate on this pick. It won't be as easy as last year. I think Pittsburgh improves, while Cincy still has some fight, this division could be close.
Colts(10-6) - Indy will hit the wall with their schedule and take a few beatings from teams in their own division along with a severe trouncing on 11/4, but Jughead will help 'em squeak by in a few. Wouldn't be too shocked if Jags or Titans even make a run at this division, but I still can't pick against the Colts taking it again.

Wild Cards
Chargers(10-6) - Start off rough, but pull it together due to pure talent and the quickfeet of their "binky-sucking" RB.
Steelers(9 -7) - Almost picked the Titans, but Pittsburgh still has life and will squeeze in similar fashion to KC last season.

I sure am glad they play the game!

Patriots 13-3 with this schedule? - You must put away the pipe please - Smoke later.

Lets be realistic - 11-5 most likely - Might be 10-6 - If we somehow have a miracle unlikely but maybe 12-4 - But AFC East Champs again

13-3 no way IMO

Pats can win any game on that schedule, if we are lucky and most guys stay healthy its 16-0 baby! :rocker:

I have to agree with all picks except Steelers. Roethlisberger is a hack, more than likely switching to a 4-3 D and new coach. I'd say the odds are stacked against them.

If you are saying the best the 2007 Pats will do based on a schedule that we knew 5 years ago and presumptions exclusive to the 2006 NFL season is 12-4, then I'm very afraid to know what you have in your hand...

It's ludicrous to suggest the best the Pats can do in 2007 is 12-4.

I am seeing 17-2 for us this year.
I don't know about the Ravens winning the division again. There offense does not help them very much however the Steelers have a new coach which may help them. No way S.D. has as good a year as last.
There will not be too many changes in the playoffs in the AFC but the NFC could be a lot different.

I only started this thread to have a little fun and hear other fan's take on the upcoming season. Don't get me wrong, looking at this schedule worries me, but based on what the Pats have done to improve the team this season and less than than two weeks from the draft I am pretty pumped up about the '07 Pats!!

If this team stays relatively healthy I believe we'll go at least 13-3, if not 14-2! BTW...I prefer a nice Cuban over a pipe. Or were you assuming I put something else a pipe???:singing:  :singing:

Sure the TEAMS on the schedule may make it look brutal but this schedule couldn't have played out any better IMO.

Why not 16-0??

"You wanna crown 'em, then CROWN 'EM!!!"

Not sure why they are even going to go ahead with the season

As long as that 19th game is a win, I'll take 14-5. :D

Division:
Pats
Bengals
Colts
Broncos

Wild Card:
Chargers
Jets

Yes, I'm picking the Jets to make a wild card. I know most here expect them to collapse with a tougher schedule next year, I think this is a solid team that has imoproved (and will continue to after they solidify their oline/defense in the draft).

Insert Balt or Pitt in place of Jets.

How do you mean?

I think he means that we don't play very good teams coming off our Monday night games and we have the best bye week you can get and we don't play any Thursday games either. Also, we don't play anyone after their bye week. Great schedule.
Teams wise, you never know who the surprise teams will be. Last year, it was San Diego, Jets, Saints, maybe others. Plus, injuries can change any team upside down. Imagine if LT was to go down in week 1, or Manning out for season. That would be something. Let's just hope our guys stay healthy this year as we've had probably the worst luck with injuries.

How do you mean?

I think our really tough games (SD, Indy, Baltimore) are spread out well and we don't have any truly brutal 3-4 game stretches. We don't have to travel far after the bye (which is thankfully late) and I believe our final 4 games are very winnable and will keep us fresh going into the postseason (no major travel).

Good points. I'm pretty psyched about playing the NFC East this year. It'll give me a chance to talk smack with some buddies who are Giants and Cowboy fans, not too mention that, besides Cleveland, I feel pretty confident about our chances in these games.

The Patriots are gonna go 11-5 next year and win the super bowl. They always start off slow, Brady doesn't look great generally until the air starts getting crisp. I say we start off 4-3 and then finish 7-2.
