A bit of an odd question, perhaps, but the Pats' relative success in terms of picking players has me wondering--what do you think other GMs would see as the scariest thing (i.e., bad for them, good for Pats and Pats fans :)) the Pats could do in this year's draft? [I'm talking realistic things here, not like "Calvin Johnson falling to the Pats at 91."]

[To use a non-draft example of what I'm talking about: the Colts and the Chargers couldn't possibly be thrilled that the Pats signed Adalius Thomas.]

I would think they would want the Patriots to stay where they are and draft any Corner but Landry and any Linebacker but Willis - If we had moved up and got Landry and then Willis later,This would be the draft of the century for the Patriots,at least going by potential talent-There are always first round busts - Ask David Terrell,Ryan Leaf,Rick Mirer,Johnathan Sullivan - ect ect ect...

I think the Pats having the pick before the Jets is giving Mangina nightmares. We'll probably end up drafting Olsen at 24 just to spite the Jests

The Pats drafting Olsen would give ME nightmares.

The Pats can already run a four-TE set (five if you put both Mills and Vrabel in); what good would six TEs do?

Cousins, Three + a bonus pick I think can work. No particular order. I think Willis makes sense though.

Not that I am a big fan of his, but Adrian Peterson would give the other teams a fit if Moroney left for a few series and you bring in yet a faster more slippery back with a little different style of running.

How about Ted Ginn in the slot high 4.2, low 4.3 speed to go a few series for Welker? You cover the slot with your nickle. How many nickels can keep up with that. You'd have to slide a safety over and now if Stallworth is on the other side, look out. Better yet, I suspect he returns kiicks. BB won't let the kid celebrate like that. Prepare for that Mr. ST coach!

Willis. I am almost tempted to say go up a get this kid. 24 and 28 equals #8 in the feared "NFL VALUE CHART". I am sure the Falcons take that deal. Go for Willis and insert him in the middle. He presents problems because he is a-typical of a NE LB as big and strong, and is more a lightning fast (4.37) kid who with our D line will not be blocked. I suspect that LT doesn't turn the corner if our D-line plays decent. The kid will not be outrun by LT to the corner nor will Larry Johnson or Washington. You take LT out of the game. Adai can't have a field day catching over the middle. He can get deep and help cover TE's like Gates and Heath. Yeh. He'd make a difference.

Bonus-This may be different. If the big kid from Miss CC, Walter Thomas if he is real, who is 365 and does a 4.9. He is Fridge Perry type pressence in the middle and you can''t run in there with either Wolfork who is now in his prime and then a few series of Thamas. Who knows if he can play but the thought if someone that big decending on Peton Manning with 4.9 speed makes Tony wince and reach for a Tums and say "your killing us". They would need a spatula to pick up the QB.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Pats took Olsen but he should be long gone before 24. I think if the Pats managed to land Landry that would give some GMs nightmares.

if Patriots somehow get Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson or Landry AND Willis..teams will drool and call it quits

Nightmare's?...this is hyperbole,run amok.

Calvin Johnson is the only player who other GM's

would worry about the Patriots getting.

Personally, I think one of the reasons Asante apparently doesn't have any offers is the fact that--as much as some teams allegedly want him--no one is willing to hand the Pats another first-rounder (or two) for him.

In terms of the draft? No real stay-up-all-night-nightmarish scenarios.

What GMs really don't want to see is the Pats remaining afloat (management-wise). But the Pats FO continues to disappoint on that hope. :) From the overall cap, to recent FA signings, other teams are saying, 'Oh no -- here we go again. Another season with them in the hunt." :(

Now comes the draft, with two first round picks and a slew of others. And when the time arrives for post draft analysis, the league is shaking their collective heads saying, "They just upgraded their roster from the bottom up, found replacements for their aging stars in Bruschi and Harrison, and got a real good sleeper in _________." :explative

But to think that the only real potential nightmare scenario for GMs, is to face a Belichick gameplan in a one game season. THAT would keep me up all night. :D
