It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Frankly my preference would be to move him out now and just avoid the inescapable drama that will surround eventually getting him into camp on the eve of the season. As mg said in one of his posts yesterday I'm not all that keen on playing a player who will be continually dealing with the conflicts inherrent in both trying to reprise and career season and not risk getting injured. I would much rather get the best compensation I can for him now than just one more season's use, and pre draft rather than post draft for obvious reasons since whether he plays one more season here or none we are better served to get another young CB situated in the pipeline and on the roster this year rather than next year.
Tenessee is #19 - that gets us to within striking range of Revis or even Hall if we're willing to pay a higher price. Saints at #27, I'd want more than just that.Teams like Tennessee or the Saints might be willing to just give there number 1 straight out for Samuel.
How about sending Samuel to the Bucs for Ronde Barber and the 1st 2nd round pick?
Isn't Ronde Barber better than Samuel ? Why would the Bucs do that ? Nobody's that dumb.
Yes, the team should stand firm. AS won't hold out. There is too much money involved. We can force him to play at a probowl level for this year or even the next two and lead us to a SB. He'll be a locker room leader. He'll help the youngsters come up to his level.
Now let's wake up. If we don't trade him, and don't sign any deal with him, we'll next see him next in July (except perhaps on the beach wearing a jersey from another team). He'll likely not show up on the field until the week before the season starts. He won't be in game shape. He will be much more likely to be injured than normal for our defensive backs (that's pretty dismal). He'll try to look good, and people will complain about his attitude. Those are HIS rights under the CBA.
AS has played out his contract and patriot fans don't have enough. We think he owes us a lifetime commitment. He's played well. He's met his commitments. Let him go.
Sorry, MG. Its not that we think that he OWES us a LIFETIME COMMITMENT. On the contrary. We believe that he's not nearly as good as he believes he is in his mind and we believe that he's not worth more than Brady or Seymour. Samuel is not better than them. I don't even believe he's better than Harrison. I don't believe that teams are scared of Asante and its actually SHOWN by his having 10 ints and 24 PDs. That tells me that they continued to throw to his side. Also, I still contend that at least 5 of his ints were the result of the D-line and LBs getting in and pressuring the QB into a Bad throw or them tipping the pass and Asante happened to be in the right place. Heck, I bet Earthwind Moreland would have made those ints because they were right to him. The other 5 were probably Samuel jumping the route. But, how many times did he get burned last year?

Please change the title of this thread to "Asante Samuel is INSANE!!"
The guy wants more than Brady and Clements made in their first 3 years. Freak him.
Insane, huh? Let us see who Samuel is playing for in the last half if this season. If it is anyone but the patriots (or on IR for the patriots), I would think that Samuel is not insane.
