In regards to the talk about the late great Darryl Stingley which I can honestly say was the WORST hit ever given to a Patriots player on an NFL field can you give an opinion on what you think was the biggest hit ever laid out by a Patriots player on another teams player?

Did the hit require a stretcher for the injured player and what game/year it was and was it a hit that put the player on IR? -Thanks

Asante Samuel's hit on Wayne or Stokley

Also had 1 against Putzier, Ricky Williams

Colvin destroyed Pennington in playoffs i believe

^not biggest but honorable mentions of recent ones

um they didnt require stretcher but required a few tissues

Samuel had the hit on Stokely, Wilson had the hit on Wayne.

Both were brutal.

I remember one hit by Andre Tippett on Bill's QB Joe Ferguson that was vicious. The hit knock him out for few games.

That one where he bounces Frye on his head is pretty nasty.

I remember a blind side blitz by Patriots Linebacker Steve King who hit John Hadl of The Rams in the pit of the back and knocked Him out cold.It was the hardeset hit that I have ever seen.

The Bryan Cox hit on WR Jerome Pathon of the Colts was a memorable one. IIRC, that was in '01.

Tebucky's hit in the SB vs a Rams WR, occured in the first offensive series -- which definately set the tone the rest of the game, sending the strong message that the Pats came to play.

There must be a Rodney highlight hit in there somewhere (probably a late one :D).

here is one that is kind of out of nowhere but when TBC was a rookie I had high hopes for him being a converted DE who I was hoping would develope and he was PUPed for the first half of the year, it was his first game and he was playing STs and he flew down and nailed the returner full speed. I dont know if it was the hit or the excitement of his first hit but that was as loud as I remeber yelling after a hit. I yelled hell yeah Tully and my college roomate was like why you yelling so hard and who the hell is tully. He laughed pretty hard at me when I told him he was a 7th round pick playing his first game.

1. Tebucky Jones on lamar Smith in pats/dolphins game at Foxboro (dec 01) caused a fumble inside the 5 recovered by patriots.
2. Marvcus Patton on Drew Bledsoe (Nov 93) bent Bledsoe backwards on a scramble up the middle.

3. Mike Jones on Stan Humphries in the 45-7 game (Dec 96). Humphries blinked about 1000 in aminute.

Bryan Cox on either Reggie Wayne or Jerome Pathon in 2001. That hit, the hardest I've ever seen, was the catalyst that turned the season around and led to the Super Bowl run. Never has one hit meant so much for a team, I think. Cox basically chokeslammed the guy.

The one that comes to mind is during the snow game against the Dolphins. On a blitz Rodney came in unblocked on Fiedler's blind side and clobbered him forcing a fumble.

Yep, good one, loved it.

Funny thing about Rodney is since he's been here, he hasn't had many highlight reel hits, but his regular tackles are just harder in general than anyone else.

I think the Eugene hit on Reggie Wayne was pretty impressive. I have a few others in my mind, but can't quite pinpoint the who/what/where of all of them.

I believe that hit was used in the menu of Madden 2005.

Which Geno hit was it where he was fined for "launching" into the WR with his helmet, but it was clearly his shoulder. Was that the Wayne one you're all talking about?

John Hannah picking up and pancaking two lb/de simultaneously, one with each forearm.

I'm not 100% sure who it was (Willie or Vrable) who absolutely crushed Warner in sb36. Pepper was on the sidelines screaming, "They knocked him out! I think they knocked him out!"
