ESPN's Hodge is a moron...

He is correct on Quinn.

he just backed Jack Tatum's hit on Stingley saying it was part of the game and people needed to suck it up (paraphrase)...then he said BYUs Jon Beck is a better QB then Brady Quinn. This guy is a freaking tool
I couldn't believe it when I heard it! Of all the retired, average, white NFL players out there....you'd think ESPN could find one with half of a brain. Hodge says something absurd every Sunday and all the other guys kind of sit there for a second trying to respond only to change the subject!

Also remember last year he said Kellen Clemens was better than Leinart, Young and Cutler and he said the only on of those QBs he would take in the first round would be Young. Guess hes on it again.

Actually he said the only one he would take in the first was Cutler. Adn what he said about Clemens is that he wouldn't be suprised if he turned out to be a better pro QB than Leinart, Cutler, and Young.

Are you done? He clearly says Kellen Clemens is better than Young or Leinart when you study them on tape.

VY makes his team from scrub to almost making the playoffs

culter makes his team from an anual playoff contender to losing to the niners on the final game of the season, pack your backs mules, we're not playing next week...

as far as clemens....who's starting in jersey? a guy who cant throw the ball 30 yards deep

Better than? Probably not. A better pro player? Probably.

Why? I am not try top put you on the spot, but why. Quinn basically had his first year in the pros while at ND under Charlie.

He is not being defensive. He was right, you where wrong. Simple.

I am POSITIVE I saw him say what I said. Even in the video he said he would only pick Jay Cutler in the first, not Young which is what I said. So how am I wrong? After the Jets picked Clemens in the second is when he said he wouldn't be suprised if he was the best pro QB of the bunch. Clearly he said both so I don't know why we're arguing.

I broke some of it down in another thread. Quinn did not have a first pro year under Weis. What Weis is doing at ND is no different than what Carroll is doing in LA, or any of the other major programs. Quinn definitely benefited from Weis' offense, I will give you that. But from a standpoint of bettering his mechanics. He performed poorly against the big-game opponents, and lost his composure in those games. I don't dislike Quinn- actually when we recruited him he was very likable, and he's a good guy. But he screams "NFL Bust" to me. I see a lot of Joey Harrington in him.

He is correct on Quinn...

...and he still may be on Vince Young, as well.

Anyone who scores a Wonderlic of 6...as in Six...as in 6.0...as in 10-4 (which may have been one of the questions), does not qb my football team. Period.

Vince Young has already proven he's an amazing athlete. He led his football team to a winning record AS A ROOKIE. Don't hate. Don't get me wrong, I'll take Brady over ANYBODY for us, but you gotta give Young the credit he deserves. He's already become one of those guys the defense must prepare for. Wonderlic doesn't measure a football player. There's been guys who score in 40s and then suck in the NFL. Give Vince Young another year and some more weapons to work with and he'll only get better.
