Having fun on the court
Hey all --
As we alluded to before, we were on "assignment" tonight, at a charity basketball game in Natick, Ma. that several Patriots players took part in.
Kevin Faulk, Santonio Thomas, Stephen Gostkowski, Logan Mankins, Kelvin Kight, Bam Childress, Jonathan Smith, Pierre Woods and Natick legend Doug Flutie started the game; just before halftime, Adalius Thomas appeared and played in the second half.
The game was against Natick High faculty and game sponsors.
Faulk was draining long-range three-pointers -- he hit about a 25-foot hook shot off glass -- and Kight banked one in from half-court. Thomas showed how athletic he is with a couple of highlight-worthy moves. Don Davis also made an appearance, though he did not play.

Why the h-e-double hockey sticks are they letting AD play basketball?!?

They always have one here in Grafton against the Police department.

The last time I went was about 5 years ago - I can only remember Tatupu and a few then-scrubs being there. Brady went in 2001, one of the years I didn't go.

Right . . . they need to tank some games to get that first or second pick.

anyone know WHEN they are playing again and where?? I think a few of us might like to go

I'd love to.
My stupid brother who was a really good (but skinny at the time) hoops player didn't tell me in advance that he'd be playing the late 70s Pats in hoops in NH. Woulda loved to have seen it.

I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't he get done for fouls all the time?

My brother-in-law was Smerlas' roomate at BC and on the Bills. They played hoops together. An avid hoops player, albeit without skills, I was warned not to play with them, reason being at 185 LBS the game would be too physical.

I thought Jonathan Smith was cut a long time ago.

I thought Jonathan Smith was cut a long time ago.
Perhaps you are thinking of Jonathan Sullivan? The fat DT bust who we cut after preseason?

Jonathan Smith is a small reciever/returner.

I thought Jonathan Smith was cut a long time ago.

He was signed before the Buffalo game, cut a few days later, re-signed a few days later, was on the roster for the Buffalo, Jets, Broncos, and Bengals games, then was cut again. He was re-signed to a 2007 contract on January 3.
