What do you guys like better - Summertime or end of summer?

From what I see in posts it looks like most of you could care less about the Summer,IMO the best time of year,Swimming,Fishing,Camping,Traveling,Beaches,Yacht Cruises ect:

Would you wish there was no summer to enjoy and just having it be Springtime,then right thru to fall so that football comes right back into action?

I don't know about you,but I enjoy those warm days and outdoor activities,Although I do love football when it comes around,although I have mixed feelings...Looking at it from a football perspective its the absolute best time of year to be alive.

Looking at it from a seasonal thing I dread the start of football season because it means Snow,Freezing Cold Temps,putting on bulky winter gear and dealing with driving in Ice/bad weather is not too far off and about 8 weeks away after the start of NFL week 1.

It must be awesome to be a huge NFL football fanatic who lives way down south or far out west where you can leave the summer behind because its never too bad weatherwise any time of year and you don't have to worry about all that extra clothes and stuff,freezing your ass off and driving in the crap.

Living in the northeast - You HATE winter- You LOVE football,Oh well can't have your warmth and pigskin too I guess (fun getting both at least until the 8th week comes around,then its november )

I guess I should leave Pa for better all year round weather but in general I love it here .....Wanting everything (NFL football and all year nice warm weather) can be tough sometimes but you gotta deal with it

I LOVE the end of summer, Fall is my favorite season (not so much now that I'm in Florida ) but even still, the start of all the holidays, cooler weather, kids going back to school, FOOTBALL! The end of summer is all good

Well, I'm stuck down south and I'll just tell you to appreciate what you have. I have one season, that's green season. It's all the same all year here, which really ruins the experience. Trust me, when you sweat your butt of ALL year, you learn to appreciate having seasons for it. It'd be like you having winter year round instead of just some months. One the middle of march hits, our asses our sweating untill december no lie. Also, I'll gladly take snowy roads (I'm used to ****ty road cuz all it does is rain if it's not a million degrees out) and snow piles over a yearly hurricane season where all your landscaping is instantly destroyed and everything scheduled gets screwed up. Atleast you northern folk have seasons of change! :[

Man...Im a New Englander!! I love the pats, but I love the Sox equally. Nothing beats the summer!!

Fishing, beaches,cookouts... Fenway.

Not to mention it is what I bust my arss in the gym all year for!! June-August is the only chance for us "Gym rats" in this area, to show off our "Gunz"! :rocker: :rocker:

OMG!!! Man... Tampa is like the freaking Twillight Zone!!! (No offense). Whenever I am in the area, I always run into some STRANGE azz people. It is like they in a fog. lol-

No offense at all. I moved here to be close to school and i hope i can make it til next summer.

No beaches, no downtown, no college atmosphere, (I live across the street from USF). My neighbors don't even grunt anymore when I say hi. There aren't even sidewalks on some streets. You drive everywhere and every road is like the one worst strip mall, traffic disaster road in a normal city.

I found some good salsa in Publix this week. That's like a month's worth of good around here.

I owned a house in Gulfport near St. Petersburg in Pinellas County, so people don't think I'm down on the area.

Pinellas has all the beaches and it's 20 times more enjoyable than Tampa.

Now that I am old, fat and hairy, instead of young, thin and hairy, I have come to dread the sunburn-inducing, sweat-producing, insect-infested summertime. The Smelltics and Ruins are helpless and hopeless anyway (Playoffs? P-playoffs?), and I refuse to invest any emotional capital in a Dead Sux organization that replaces Trot Nixon with JD Drew, who is paid more than David Ortiz.

If it were up to me, the Monday after July 4th would be Labor Day.

Beaches in most directions no more than 15 minutes away, every street a nice wide 4 lane road (every major one that is), nothing like this small one lane road crap in the northeast. Tampa does have a small downtown area, nothing like Boston's but it's there. I don't know about the whole college atmosphere as I was and am well past college age. If it weren't for in-laws, the wife and I would still be there.

Back to the original question, I love summertime but my favorite season is fall and football.

Summer and End of Summer. Football is a perfect sport to obsesse over for me as i like riding [motorcycles] and manage to go on long road trips.I try to squeeze in at least 1 5000 mile trip a year and alot of over nighter and long weekend trips.i put 20k miles a season my sport bike .Also ,love motogp which starts at the end of feb and ends when foot ball starts.so every sunday i have motogp parties and football parties.how can you beat that.And on trips i am seldom home on weekends.

not a sox fan as i do not have time for it ......with my first baby on the way i am sure things are going to change....no more camping in campsites and seeing the backroads of america lol .

I hate the heat and humidity of summer. I prefer the end of summer. My two favorite months of the year are October and November.

I'm a true New Englander and love all four seasons but I have a liking towards end of summer(August). Since that is when I am fully entrenched in with my Fantasy Football Leagues and football season is only a month away in September.

Why ? Explain ? JK Pats1. Fall in NE is unsurpassed without football. With football it is Nirvana. I live by the Ocean so summer is number 2. Cookouts , fishing, going to the beach with my kids,waterskiing. Summer rocks by the water.

Most streets are actually 6 lane roads if that's what you enjoy. It does make it easier to get out of town.

I'd love the name of the beach that's 15 minutes away.

I lived almost on the water in Gulfport and it took about 15 minutes to get to Ft. DeSoto Beach which is the close beach to Tampa according to the Real Estate agents on the city data messageboard. LOL.

43 minutes to either, according to google maps. And that's without traffic LOL!!

Add 10 mins to the USF area.

I used to live 10mins from Indian Rocks Beach in Largo also.

Because of no pub transport, there is much more traffic than even five years ago in Tampa.

There are nice neighborhoods too. I don't wan't to do a travelogue, PM me if anyone wants my opinion on Clearwater, St. Pete or Tampa.
