What are the 3 best and 3 worst run organizations in the NFL in order.

My Picks....

BEST OF THE BEST
1) New England Patriots - Even if I was not a HUGE Patriots fan this is the logical choice - 3 Super Bowl wins this decade plus different 'no name' guys who come in to replace injured starters and overachieve every year shows what an intelligent and smart organization this is and its recent record over the past 6 years reflects that

2) Indianapolis Colts - Just like New England, this team has been competitive thoughout this decade and Bill Polian is simply one of the best men to pick productive draft choices that I have ever seen in NFL history,They know how to pick guys that are successful and help to make the team better, plus the fact that they stay out of the Media limelight with no bad guys in the locker room speaks volumes of thier success -they are only slightly behind NE as a top organization because of less SB championships.

3) Philadelphia - Andy Reid and the FO are very good at getting the best out of their guys and prove to be competitive every year, even when talent is not there on some areas of the team - What puts this team in top 3 organizations is how they handled the T.O. situation and quietly got rid of the cancer that held this team back,Truly a classy organization with no big troublemakers now that T.O. is no longer there - they will once again show how good a group as an organization with likely another big push for a playoff berth this year.

WORST OF THE WORST

1) Cincinnati - Need I say more? - Are there any players on this team that have not had a prior criminal record? - Maybe aside from the coach likely none - The F.O. cares more about winning then the caliber of people they put on their team - That speaks volumes of what is important in the Bengals organization - although winning has yet to occur anyway.

2) Tennessee - Moves up into this area when last year 2 of their guys got into big trouble when 1 of their players stepped intentionally on a Dallas Cowboys head causing many stitches and of course the infamous Pacman Jones who was not yet cut from the team which once again shows this team only cares about having the best players on the team, not cutting them for being scum like Pacman who should have been cut months ago for his action off the field also not to mention the cheap shot by their WR on Rodney Harrison figuring they may win that game by taking one of our best out which they did get ridof Rodney, but did not win the game anyway.

3) Detroit - Does the name MATT MILLEN mean anything? - Aside from his worthless GM position this is a decent organization who has wonderful fans who deserve more but as far as evaluating talent and making the right moves this team is pathetic and Millen is a big reason for continuous losing seasons by getting the wrong guys in FA,Draft ect:,Definately earns a spot here if not for futility and ineptness more than bad trouble guys,Some day this team will arise from being a bad organization but nothing shows me its gonna be anytime soon.

Your opinions on this?

You put the 49ers over the Bengals? - Don't understand that,The 49ers may have been bad recent years but are now coming back around a bit and may be a force by 2010 plus they really don't have a disfunctional team.

. . . and of course the infamous Pacman Jones who was not yet cut from the team . . .

Unfortunately, it is very difficult--almost impossible, in fact--to cut a player for disciplinary reasons. (Apparently, though, not giving it your all in practice is another matter--see Gabriel, Doug.)

we have different standards. yours is basically a ranking based on character, and mine values winning a lot more in my criteria. so under your system, the 3-time champion cowboys would not be considered a top organization. also, i replace titans with cardinals now that i've thought about it some more.

Right now the Raiders have to be in the discussion of worst organizations.

Putting the Cowboys there would not be a recent thing - organization ratings as being based on recent showing - If want to go by years ago then you can say the Patriots organzation was a joke when this team was owned by Mr. Remington razor..its nowadays that count.

i meant AT THE TIME, like in 1996, you wouldn't have called the cowboys a top organization, right?

yeah the raiders are a solid pick for worst team too.

Top (as of today)

Pats - playoff success cannot be matched by any contemporary
Indy - consistent regualr season threat with a SB finally
Chicago - they've got a formula that works
Denver - be thankful they don't have a guy like Brady
San Diego - LT/Brees/Rivers nexus standing up to all but the very best
Pittsburgh - solid for so long
Eagles - but I fear they are fading

Bottom (in no particular order of incompetence)

AZ- a non-stop goat screw
Raiders - Davis needs to watch "The Aviator"
Cleveland - the mistakes by the lakes continue
Giants - good grief, there's no way a team with such gobs of money and trillions of fans should be so mediocre. Oh yeah, they had one of the best backs of a generation and they still stunk. No excuses....
'Skins - Synder should go back to making pretzels. Oops, wrong guy, sorry, but maybe the dough twisting family would take this Synder in and teach him a skill he can actually manage.

Risers

Titans
49'ers
Jets (yech)

Butt Boy nailed it.
Denver has to be a consideration. SD if they've solved their HC fiasco.

And on the downside how could folks not excoriate the Jints who have pissed away money and opportunity? Oakland is such a gimmie as a losah.

The Best Patriots, Colts Steelers and Eagles.
The worst Texans, Redskins, Lions and Cardinals

I have trouble not considering San Diego as one of the worst run organizations in the NFL. If we're only considering evaluation of talent, then it's difficult to do so, however that organization is in shambles. Mismanagement of the coaching staff and decisions to keep/fire Schottenheimer and when they decided to do so, as well as the struggles that Smith and Schottenheimer had to even speak with one another, and the ineffectiveness of Dean Spanos to mediate strike me as situations that should not happen to teams that have a solid front office, let alone one of the "best organizations in football."

i agree with most of what you are saying, but

i find it hard to figure that the organization that is worth the most(redskins), is on your worst list. you can criticize the way the spend their money, but in terms of an organization they are successful.

in my eyes an organization that is considered to be the worst is an organization that does put anything into their team and simply doesnt change.
my worst list:
Oakland Raiders- Davis has to give it up already he is KILLING that franchise.
Detroit Lions- Ford has to realize that Matt Millen shouldnt be running an ice cream stand, never mind an NFL team.
New York Giants- the organization put all their eggs into the Eli Manning basket and he simply hasnt worked out yet. as he goes, so do the giants and now that he doesnt have an all pro running back, will be hard for him to suceed. plus there is no reason for Tom Coughlin to be coaching right now.

There's one gauge in success - winning. Whatever the 'Skins have gained in recent years in terms of dollar value would be doubled or more if they had been a contender. With the way the NFL has exploded and the money now just bursting inside the Beltway, the Redskins should be a premier franchise. Instead, an egomaniacal owner has employed the team to sate his fantastic desires. Washington is a golden egg stuck in a cold nest. Too bad, the Patriots vs. the 'Skins would be a hecka of a SB.

Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders have to go down as 2 of the worst football organizations.

With due respect to the great Country of Canada I don't think too many guys here know much or even watch the Canadian Football League although it was fun to catch once in a while when Flutie was tearing defenses apart there and my favorite team when I was younger was the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and I also enjoyed the Winnipeg Jets as my favorite NHL Team before they went to Phoenix and became the Coyotes (Butt ugly uniforms now).

Patriot64, you my friend are a very wise person. The 2 teams that you list above were my 2 home teams growing up. Grew up following both those teams attending as many games as possible. Now I am stuck out on the left coast following the Lions and Canucks - but whenever I get back home, Blue Bombers rule.

Always loved the Blue Bombers and the way they play...Back when the Patriots sucked the Bombers were very good at the time and I wished NE was like them back then.

They could put tons of points up in 1 quarter like I have never seen here in the states before,A wonderful team back then and still cool to watch now when its a rare chance to see highlights on ESPN.

It was very hard for me to get a Winnipeg Jets jersey when I was a fan back in the 80s - They never had them in stock because that team was such a small market and Teemu Salamme (spelled right?) is my favorite player when he was with them.
