Suggestions? I was leaning towards Merriweather despite his troubled behavior. Another option I was considering was TE since all the top LBs are gone.

Carriker?

Harrell?

Griffin?

:wha:

Put your Kool-Aid down NOW. That batch expired in 2004. Gillette Stadium will be sending you this year's batches ASAP. :)

My serious pick would probably be someone like Carriker. But even the oft-maligned Brian Leonard would be a better pick than any TE.

But you know how much BB loves TEs. And there's a couple good ones in this draft. Just throwing it out there. :bricks:

the only te out there worth a 1st round pick is greg olsen and this guy would be a ben watson clone. if you draft a te for the pats it should be one with better blocking skills ;)

I would have traded up for Carriker by now. A first round of Carriker/Anthony Spencer would be phenomenal

Greg Olson is over-rated. The better TE is Zach Miller from ASU.

totally agree dryheat that would be fantastic!!

In reality he's likely not on the board, but with Carriker being so talented even if at a Postion you already have Seymour and Warren, you take Carriker at 24. Plus this gives you more flexibility when it comes to resignings. Again though, I doubt he's still on the board.

So pass on Meriweather & hope he's there at 28?

I agree Carriker would be tremendous value. We'd have the best 4-3 defense in the league :rocker:

What about Blalock? Mankins and Blalock zone blocking for Maroney? That would be sick.

Lastly I'd take Griffin for the usual reasons. I like him better than Merriweather.

Woodley 24

Merriweather 28

Woodley 24

Merriweather 28

with carriker on board i would throw my tv out of the window, if i were a patsfan and the draft runs like this. woodley doesn't have 1st round value for sure and merriweather has too many character issues to spend a first round pick.

i'd take carriker in a heartbeat at 24 and with #28 michael griffin (or aaron ross, if griffin is picked by the eagles)

Dryheat-Cousin,
Would you trade 24 and 28 with Atlanta for their one and grab Willis?
Too much?
Or would you swap the two for the Atlanta pick. Move up to SF for their one and a three so we get another pick?
I think Willis is by far and away the best LB but two ones maybe too much.

What about other safties like Rouse?

I agree that Carriker is the best value here I had to look twice to make sure I was reading this right. Merriweather and Griffin are good choices also.

24. Carriker/Griffin
28. Woodley/Merriweather

rouse doesn't fit in the patriots scheme, he would look much better in a cover 2-scheme. i wouldn't be surprised if he will line up as a linebacker in the nfl (scouts compare him to cato june).
