I was just thinking after watching the NFL Pats marathon yesterday that Brady has his best years ahead of him. I honestly think that Pats will win 2 if not 3 more SB's with Brady! I really do. The combination of Brady and Belichick is just too good. That coupled with the best GM in the game and great great players on all sides of the ball makes me believe they have something other teams just don't come close to. Talent is great, but coaching is the most important thing. When your QB buys into what the coach coaches - ultimately it means everything! Look back to after that Miami debacle last year what did Brady say at his PC that following Wednesday ... 'I think we all have to start listening to our coach'! It was no secret or no surprise to me that they only lost one game after Brady made those statements and that was the AFC Championship game! Brady knows what makes this team work and what makes it stall - he is the key and he is getting better - SMARTER! Maybe not more talented physically, but certainly smarter. The Greats like Young, Marino and Elway all said that as they got older and more experienced the game slowed down for them and they could see the field better, more clearly. That is happening now to Brady.
I find it amazing how at 29, going on 30 many people are saying that Brady is past his prime. Yet, with what most call 3rd & 4th string WR's as his 1st and 2nd and virtually no running game in 3 playoff games, he QB'd them to yet another AFC Championship game. I think this past season was his best yet! Brady does so much with so little. He will have a monster year in 2007 barring any injuries. Injuries as he gets older will be his biggest obstacle. He gets hit hard and plenty year after the year. He takes vicious hits and just keeps getting up, but now at 30 he will have a much harder time getting up. I hope the Pats realize that WR's, TE's and RB's are great to build around your franchise QB but its the Offensive Line that matters MOST and they need to make sure they get better at protecting Brady as Brady gets older. He can't take many more years of these brutal hits.
