My 3rd mock attempt after intial FA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 3rd attempt at a mock with a couple of trades mixed in. Didn’t do the Skins 5-7th picks because to be honest I have no idea whats going on that far down and it was a stretch doing the 3rd and 4th picks. I think we are going to end up dealing with the Vikes or Texans to get Quinn.

1. Raiders-Qb Jamarcus Russell
2. New England from Detroit-WR Calvin Johnson Detroit gets New England 24th, 28th, 3rd, 4th, next year 3rd
3. Browns-OT Joe Thomas
4. Bucs- DE Gaines Adams
5. Cardinals-DT Alan Branch
6. Texans from Redskins QB Brady Quinn Redskins get Texan 8th pick, Texans 4th, Next year 3rd
7. Vikings-DE Jamall Anderson
8. Redskins from Texans DT Amobi Okoye
9. Dolphins-OT Levi Brown
10. Falcons-WR Rober Meachem
11. 49ers- CB Darelle Revis
12. Bills-HB Adrian Peterson
13. Rams- FS Laron Landry
14. Panthers-DE Adam Carriker
15. Steelers-WR Ted Ginn
16. Packers-CB Marshawn Lynch
17. Jaguars-WR Dwayne Jarrett
18. Bengals-FS Brandon Merriwether
19. Titans-CB Leon Hall
20. Giants-DE Jarvis Moss
21. Broncos-DE Charles Johnson
22. Cowboys-FS Mike Griffen
23. Chiefs-MLB Patrick Willis
24. Detroit from New England-OG Ben Grubbs
25. Jets- OLB Paul Posluszny
26. Eagles – C Ryan Kalil
27. Saints-Marcus McCauley
28. Detroit from New England –OT Joe Staley
29. Ravens- OLB Joe Beason
30. Chargers- WR Dwayne Bowe
31. Bears- OLB Lawerance Timmons
32. Colts- CB Aaron Ross

Redskin Moves
Springs traded to Detroit for 3rd and 4th
Skins picks
8th Amobi Okoye
3rd S Eric Weddle
4th OL Kent Quarterman
4th TE Dan Murray

A couple notes
I have Detroit taking two lineman because I think they really need to start from scratch and the OL or DL is always the best place to start. Also I think Okoye is the guy the Redskins really want and they will draft him eaither at 6 or later if they can trade down. 49ers draft Revis and believe it or not are not that far away from seriously contending.

Nothing like a nice mid-Friday afternoon acid, er....litmus test to see if anyone's paying attention.

Yikes.

Matt Millen's too stupid to make that trade, even if Belichick offered. And he's too stupid to grab two offensive linemen, a la Mangini.

So you see the Patriots trading up their entire draft to get Calvin Johnson or Quinn.... 1 word - NO. 5 words - Just say NO to Drugs. Nuff said.

To be fair, this particular draft (on hailredskins.com) was done about three weeks ago--although, again, to be fair, after the Pats signed Stallworth.

The author agreed that, given Stallworth's signing, this doesn't make much sense. [I leave the implications of the statement as an exercise to the reader.] His most recent mock has a somewhat more logical selection (Griffin and Staley); in general, though, I found the commentary on those threads not quite as intellectually stimulating as the comments on drafts on this board. ;)

I'll let others deal with the Pats trading up for Johnson.

But given that the Texans just bet half the house on Matt Schaub, and notwithstanding the succession of dumb ideas and choices that comes from their front office, I don't see them gambling the other half for a second quarterback.

Other than that, there's some sensible looking choices in there, although the Chiefs will be lucky if Patrick Willis is still there by the time they get round to picking.

I wasn't try to make fun of the poster,I thought It said it was posted 3/29 but I could be wrong.
I was honestly shocked at the thought of the Patriots doing a "Hershel Walker/Ricky Willams" type of draft.

Not in my lifetime will BB ever do that deal. He thinks that there just isn't
enough 'value' for the team selecting that high, never mind giving up what
amounts to what that idiot Ditka did to NO when he selected RW.

Again, this draft was made before the Schaub deal went down. When I refind the link to his newest (more reasonable) mock, I'll post it.
