All I know is Tom Casale writes some great fiction articles.

I was once a subscriber to Patriot's Football Weekly. It had some decent articles and information. Yet, I did not renew my subscription because it kept on getting to me later and later. It would take weeks to get it and by then the info was old and covered to death by other sources.

Been a subscriber for 12 yrs, and its still a great read...I know people dont like some of the writers, but guys dont forget Mike Reiss started with PFW..

It has some good articles you cant get any where else
This month issue [april] is always a good read.A lot of mock drafts in it

Is their a story behind that comment? I'd just love to hear about our multiple personality friend.

On the PFW radio show Casale has been going off on Ben Watson because he only left his girlfriend at 17.4% tip. Apparently if he was a normal tipper he would have given 30%. I like the guy, but this is among his lamer moments.

I think I better save my money if articles on tipping are going to be in it.....

Doesn't matter, he's not there anymore.

In the immortal words of Rick Pitino "I don't see Larry, Robert and Kevin walking through that door, do you?".

Why would anyone want to read PFW because Reiss USED to work there?

The guy who is there now complains about 17.4% tips to his waitress/fiancee by a player who just returned from visiting the troops in Iraq on his free time. This same "writer" spends HIS free time coming on here under 4 alias poster names to write innuendo about a rookie that would get him fired if he did it in PFW or his web show. The same "4 alias posters" spent their other board time here labeling Reiss an overrated phony and saying that someone at PFW named Casale is much better and should have his job. Pathetic and embarrassing for a public figure to stoop to that.

I know about Reiss, I read Reiss and that juvenile is no Mike Reiss.

I had it for one year and wasn't overly impressed. To me it was a whole lot of nothing. I didn't renew my subscription.

The reason for the "lame" tip was due to poor service no less. So, Ben was cool enough to "protest" Alison's terrible service with only a 17.5% tip - yet, Casale rips him anyway, choosing to ignore the his good work overseas.

We know his gf's name is Alison because at one time Casale was on here posting as "Alisonlovesbrady". Yup it's all true.....

I'd highly recommend PFW for anyone out of state, and I find it a good read myself when I have time for it.

As a local though I found that my desire for immediate news and detailed analysis from the local papers and internet was giving me all I could digest and then some, so the price of the subscription was something that I couldn't justify.

So again, if you 1.) have only limited time to read analysis 2.) Can't spend time surfing the net and want a hard copy and 3.) Don't get your fil of local sports talk radio as well - it would be highly recommended and well worth the money.

I had it from '99 to '05. There's just no need for it anymore. I had it coming via first class but was still getting it a week after the previous game. All your Pats-related news is easier to access online and its free. When people say the print press is dying, well in this case I agree with that assessment. PFW need to improve their web features if they want to survive.

Is Watson dating Alisonlovesbrady now?

I don't read the publication and I've tried to listen to the broadcast at various drafts, (probably pre Casale) and i have no use for that.

Sounds like a bunch of giggly high school kids who wandered into a radio studio.

There's no shortage of people who know football, (look at these boards). Why
hire someone who's nasty and mean spirited about the players on the team that pays his salary?

I don't want to bring up The R-ism word, but you must remember most of these players are from the south, midwest, small towns etc.

They're not used to eating at fancy restaurants and probably read in a guide book that you tip 15%, which is what has always been the benchmark. It's tended to creep up in the big cities, but not in small towns, other areas.

I'm not saying Watson's unsophisticated, by the way, but I think Chad Johnson is and that innuendo laden broadcast with the semi-attractive cheerleader and the hosts giggling away was the height of unprofessionalism.

Even If only 3 people are listening, it's on the air and it's representing the team, so shape up.

I really think Kraft should clean house and get rid of that little junior high clique that runs the radio show and video news.

I happened to listen to the Wednesday show "PFW in progress" it is called found on www.patriots.com site. I heard Casale ripping and seemingly trying to discredit and mock Reiss over some information he had posted. That little rant by Casale was over some information Tomase had in his blog a few days earlier. I know that Reiss was actually updating and confirming what Tomase had said and if Casale had taken the time to read Reiss, he would have realized that. Just amazing what an ass this guy is. He knows football but cannot get over himself.

Sorry to hijack the thread (although Casale is part of PFW). The magazine is a good read though and worth buying.

So when he goes out dressed as Alison he calls himself his girlfriend?

Unprofessional behavior. Strictly bush league.

I think you figured it all out, He is a she when he wants to be....

I live in NJ and have had a subscription the last 15 years or so. Late arriving issues is really a non issue now because you can read the same articles @ PFWonline as long as you subscribe to the paper. The Patriots seasonal yearbooks that come with the subscription are nice to collect too.

But Paul Perillo is a very good biased reporter... And that is worth buying it.. , I have no problem with Cassale, he was annoying at first, but he seems to have some good college draft knowledge...
