The Raiders are expected to use cut blocking this season.

They'll need chainsaws to cause any improvement. Total suckitude. they can't even trade the only player that used to be worth something.

This is about what the commissioner, and the union, should be truly concerned.

There should be a rule stating, simply, that within the hashmarks, inside the tackle box, vertically and horizontally, there shall be no blocking at or below the knees, from any direction.

What's so hard about that?

It would completely derail Zone Blocking schemes.

Learn to defend the cut block. Every team cut blocks.

The offensive line falls down on every play anyway. They might as well call it "technique."

That's chop blocking, which legitimately gets us :enranged:. What the Raiders are doing is cut blocking, which often leads to chop blocking, but isn't the same.

That doesn't make it right. Blocking at/below the knees in the cramped, chaotic confines of the tackle box is cruel and cowardly, pardon the alliteration.

You can legitimately block below the knees in the Tackle box. Chop blocking is cut blocking a defender that is already engaged in a high block.

Garbage. It's part of the game. It goes on from High School to College to the NFL. Is hitting someone hard considered cruel? A defender can easily defend and defeat a cut block if he is properly coached.

That the Raiders are going to use *any* kind of blocking this year should make their fans happier.

Regards,
Chris

Still ticked off over the technically legal, but ethically shamefiul cheapshot hit by TENN WR Bobby Wade on Rodney Harrison which KO'd Rodney for the season and cost the Patriots a 4th SB.

If there is a Hell, then damn Bobby Wade to it.
