Since you asked for his ceiling, I'm only posting the Positives:

I really don't think this will be a David Terrell-type camp fodder signing. Hopefully he'll make an impact, he is really saying all the right things and clearly has the mindset to make it happen.

They might! That would certainly explain why so many of us spray glass cleaner down our slacks.

But seriously, I think that this could be a good signing if KW can be the type of route runner that can find the hole in the zone. If he runs crossing route, we're doomed as this is the weakness in Tom's game. He doesn't throw middle short crossing routes very well. Or maybe its the receivers. I'm no expert; I am just making an observation.

He could be Donald Hayes or he could be very productive. Is he the type of receiver that can outrun safeties, out muscle corners, and get open? Can he run a few routes very well? How're his hands?

I saw a couple of Bengals games where he led the team in receptions but apparently those were the only two he made an impact in as I look at this career stats.

And it works just as well for any question a person asks about what someone else thinks may or may not happen in the future! We can't know for sure until it happens, so why waste breath talking about it?

AT 6-3 218 with decent speed and great hands - the sky is the limit.

Major neck injury really hurt him in his last year at college, when he tricked Donte Stallworth by not coming out during his last year of eligibility after telling Donte he would, only to hurt the neck and thus lose his high #1 potential.

He was buried in Cinnci behind some pretty awesome recievers. He showed willingness to do anything to get on the field by learning to be a "gunner".

Reports I get from friends in Cinnci say, IF he stays healthy, he will be awesome. The guy is fast, runs sweet routes and knows what to do after the catch and he has great hands. Hamstrings have really "hamstrung" him.

So, crystal balls polished (thank you Patsgo) I woudl say we may have struck gold here - of course, I always take the positve approach when a player puts on a Patriot uni.

Big question for him is can he stay healthy. If he can, he could be very good.

His greatest value for the Patriots, IMO, will be in the red zone.

I'm going with a 42" vertical.

In this offense, Washington can look as good as Terry Glenn used to look in a Patriot uniform but less attractive in a dress. Potential game beaker with the occasional game that makes you throw your remote. If he was a primary threat on the Bengals or even a team like the Jets, he could play like the best of them (see Cotchery's numbers last season or Hosyourmamma on the Bengals).

I think we are starting to learn that there is more involved than simply how good he looks in a bathing suit. Size, speed, etc. are only part of the story.

I watched a show that spent time with Torry Holt, the guy trains like a freak but also spends hours in the film room studying himself, his opponents and other top receivers. He wants to get better and better, 7 1000 yard seasons in a row and he still wants to improve.

Washington is what is is, it is highly unlikely he is going to change now. His career year was 31 catches. He is not even a lock to make the team.

I say his ceiling is 50 catches, 5 TDs and we would all be pretty happy with that for a 5th WR.

Come down out of the clouds, guys. It's Kelly Washington we're talking about. As Tuna would say, let's not put him in Canton yet. Be realistic - he's competing with Gaffney and Caldwell for a starting spot. In a 3-receiver set, it's Stallworth, Welker and one of the 3 above.

Put it this way - who will have the higher reception total this yr - Caldwell or Washington? My money is on the guy with the big eyeballs.
