Ah I'm not in favor of WRs weightlifting. I have no idea why anybody would imp!y that. And Stork lose Lbs/gain explosive power to handle NTs. He never will have strength to handle NTs in dominating fashion if he can't now. How would anybody figure.

I know they won't stretch for nicks. Just an idea. But a standout guard/center would be totally fine

C'mon brah, stop being such a Debbie downah! Surely KT could throw ankle weights on while sprinting up and down Everest. That would make him the most explosive dude to ever play.

Plus, your telling me if Stork didn't lean out and take the proverbial needle for the next year that he wouldn't be more super explosive and strong and shredded and stuff. Dude bro, wicked buzz kill.

Actually a standout guard or center is more than totally fine. Its a necessity for this team to get over the hump. No Superbowl contender can be legit sporting them 2 losers Wendall/Conolly.Brady and this offense can't function consistently and beat NFL powerhouse defenses/teams consistently through the playoffs with them 2. Stork everybody pencils in because its easy to upgrade over Wendy. But Stork has some questions about handling NFL power a and not just the bad@$$ NTs DTs. Many standout centers college centers struggle with NFL power. Konz,Jones most recently are just a couple. In College these guys don't have to go man up against good NFL caliber power much less very good/elite. They just play intelligently/head on swivel/block the right guy/but mostly help double the right guy. In the NFL centers like konz can't be protected from one on one as much. They usually end up looking bad, very bad especially against the better DTs. Once teams know a center cant

Problem is Stork has many of the deficiencies we berate Wendell for. While I, like many around here, hope Stork steps in and beats out Wendell from day one, I doubt it. Wendell signed an Arrington contractabd entered a league few, if any reach. Every outsider to the situation wonders why Bill decided to hit the rock, heavily, while negotiating with these two. Arrington gets embarrassed, consistently and often on the outside. Wendell gets beat up the middle worse than any porn star of your choosing. Yet they each signed decent deals, surely much higher than any other team was offering...

Kenbrell works and trains for speed/flexibility that makes him a more explosive route runner harder than any WR in the NFL.
How would you know this?

Boyce/LaFell battling for the last receiver spot.. who makes it? I was always higher on Thompkins than I was LaFell, but I think the one area we can use LaFell is with his blocking ability.

Boyce and LeFell could both make the team if we kept 2 TE's OR we didn't keep a FB OR we didn't keep a 3rd QB. There are other ways, but many of our roster guesses have 25 on offense (not including Slater): 3 QB, 4 RB, 1 FB, 6 WR, 2 TE, 9 OL. Many also may the choice you make between Lefell and Boyce, keeping 5 WR's and 3 TE's.

The complicating factor is that Boyce is needed as a kick returner.

PICK 5
Boyce, LeFell, 3rd TE, FB, 3rd QB, 9th OL

My projection for productivity

X-Dobson 60-75catches 1000-1100 yards 7-10 TDs
Z-Kenbrell 70-95 catches 1000-1300 yards 7-10 tds(rooting him for higher end of projections)
Slot Edelman 60-80 catches 500-800 yards 3-5 TDs
Amendola 25-70 catches 200-700 yards 2-4 TDs
Boyce (slot wildcard) 25-50 catches 350-800 yards 2-6 TDs
Vereen 40-80 catches 350-1000 yards 8-15 TDs total
Rushes 200-250 -800-1200 yards( hoping healthy year as our feature back)

Rooting for a big trade. Not Andre Johnson! We should trade for a standout Guard or Center! IF NECESSARY WE PART WITH MALLET AND #2 FOR A STANDOUT GUARD OR CENTER THATS ON HIS ROOKIE DEAL STILL. OR I PREFER CARL NICKS TRADE MOST OF ALL. HE TURNS OUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS, OUR INTERIOR OLINE, TO A STRENGTH/WEAPON! HE IS THE MOST DOMINANT/POWERFUL GUARD IN THE NFL. HE REESTABLISHES THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE AND MOVES HIS ENTIRE SIDE OF THE DLINE. SEAN PEYTON SAID HE IS ATHLETIC ENOUGH TO STANDOUT AT RT AND MAYBE EVEN LT. HAS THE TALENT OF #2 OVERALL PICK GREG ROBINSON. IF WE CANT RESTRUCTURE HIM FOR SALARY CAP WE SHOULD MAKE THE TRADE FOR A STANDOUT GUARD OR CENTER THATS CAP FRIENDLY ON HIS ROOKIE DEAL BUT BOUT TO BECOME AN UFA AND HIS TEAM DEALS HIM TO GET A RETURN BEFORE HE HITS THE OPEN MARKET. EVEN IF IT COSTS US A ROUND2 PICK. THINK ABOUT IT. REDUCES BRADYs RISK OF INJURY FOR ONE! ALLOWS BRADY TIME AND CONFIDENCE IN THE POCKET TO CARVE DEFENSES. IT ALLOWS OUR WRS TIME TO WORK OPEN AND TIME TO RUN EVERY ROUTE. It HELPS OUR YOUNG WRS DEVELOPMENT AND CONFIDENCE TO RUN ANY AND ALL ROUTES ANYWHERE ON THE FIELD AND PUT UP THE STATS LISTED ABOVE! BRADY AND OUR WEAPONS WILL MAKE DEFENSES HAVE TO GUARD EVERY SPEC OF THE FIELD AS BRADY WILL HAVE MORE TIME THAN EVER TO STEP UP AND MAKE ANY THROW WITH PRECISION AND ACCURACY. IF AND WHEN WE ADD A GUARD/CENTER OR SOMEBODY WHO IS GREAT AT BOTH AND OUR INTERIOR OLINE BECOMES A STRENGTH AS OPPOSED TO LAST YEARS ROLLER DERBY CREW WENDALL/CONNOLLY IT COULD VERY VERY VERY MUCH BECOME THE DIFFERENCE IN US WINNING THE SUPERBOWL FINALLY OR ANOTHER PLAYOFF BUTTKICKING. DUE TO BRADY AND WEAPONS HAVING NO TIME TO FUNCTION OR RUN EFFECTIVE DANGEROUS ROUTES. LAST YEAR MANY TIMES BRADY TOOK 3 QUICK STEPS BACK AND HAD TO THROW OR BE SACKED. DOMINANT OR EVEN VERY GOOD PROTECTION UP THE MIDDLE WITH OLINEMAN WHO CAN BLOCK THE BETTER DTs ONE ON ONE EFFICIENTLY WOULD ALLOW BRADY TO THROW UPRIGHT WITH UNMATCHED ACCURACY/PRECISION AND ALLOW OUR WRS TO REALISTICALLY PUT UP THOSE STATS. IT WOULD BE THE DIFFERENCE IN OUR OFFENSE FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS. PUT SIMPLY,NOT PARTING WITH A ROUND2 PICK TO FIX THE INTERIOR OLINE WOULD COST US A SUPERBOWL VICTORY!

Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks' time with the Bucs is over. He and the team have agreed on an amicable settlement.

People hoping Nicks will go back to NO or elsewhere, not happening, he's stepping away as he's still not physically where he wants to be

Really dude? The walls of text weren't enough, you're gonna double down and shout it all as well?

I would say if any WR is the odd man out it would be Amendola who plays a position that our best WR (Edelman) is best suited to play. The reality is that if Thompkins is the stud people believe he is it makes more sense to play 3 wide in this formation.

X-WR – Dobson
Z-WR – Thompkins
Slot WR – Edelman

LaFell can play inside and outside, as well as some Joker TE. Boyce is a superior talent to Amendola with more upside and he serves as our KR. Personally I think that there is room on the roster for 7 WRs including Slater, but if Thompkins is the beast that is being reported and we are only going to carry 6 WRs Amendola will be the odd man out.

White - Probably same as Vereen. I would love to see him catch a go route though that Vereen tends to have so much trouble with.

Vereen was great with those until he broke his wrist. When he finally came back, he was playing with a cast on one hand, which was causing the catching problems.

It appears your man Nicks is stepping away from the game at least temporally.

Carl Nicks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers mutually agree to part ways - ESPN

WRs:
Minitron
ToughGlass
Thompkins
Boyce
LaFell

Dobson to PUP
Gallon to PS

Wrong Johnson, Orton (never mind), Van HoosHe = tackling dummies

I'm not going to call myself giddy about the WRs or anything like that, but if any one of Dobson, Thompkins or Boyce emerge as a consistent #2 this offense will suddenly take on a very different shape.

My fingers are crossed for a repeat of 2003 and a dual emergence like Branch/Givens back in the day.

At worst, this offense is 2013 redux. If a guy or two emerge and Gronk/Vareen stay relatively healthy, the offense returns to a top 5 unit.

Some fans like generals, want to fight the last war, over again. Why do you want the Offense to fall to Fifth ?!?

It finished as the Third rated Offense in the League last season, despite the injuries, and raw rookie inexperience and mistakes. Now the receiving corps is healthy, at both TE and deep at WR, and no longer immature rookies.

Worry about the issues we are likely to have now such as LB depth, unsettled newcomers on the Offensive line, and an elderly run Defense up the middle...

If that happens, the positive is that Pats finally developed some inhouse WR talent
The negative is that they massively overpaid for WR free agent disappointments, not only for Amen and Lafell but Ocho's $5MM year as well. It's like 70% of their WR budget goes toward very little productivity.

@MikeReiss: Tom Brady on WR Kenbrell Thompkins: "I have a lot of confidence in him and a lot of trust."

I still hope that our starting trio ends up as Dobson, Edelman, KT, with Amendola/Lafell as backups.

Josh Boyce and Kenbrell Thompkins are going to make it over Amendola, who will be cut if we only keep 6 WRs?

Understanding that you don't like Amendola, I think you're making a very bold claim here that likely won't be seen.

Personally, I think the first part of your post outweighs the second part. In a vacuum, I'd always rather see young, home-grown talent beat out middle tier FA acquisitions.

Comical

A guy with these stats, (8 games - 3 as a starter, 9 receptions, and 121 yards) is more "talented" than Amendola. I guess he just decided to not show off his talent last year.
That WR in the 1st game of the season looked pretty talented to me.

Again, pure comedy and at this point it is really just pathetic and sick.

Is Boyce even on the field right now? I havent heard a word about him and nothing about him maybe returning kicks, which is kinda suprising

Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola have also looked very good to open camp, with maybe the one issue coming when they have had to face Revis. Hey, that happens. Both returning pass catchers – who were No. 1 and No. 2 in receptions last fall – appear healthy and ready to return to key roles. After that, though, there are nothing but unproven question marks.
Brandon LaFell has been inconsistent and dropped the ball too often after missing much of the spring.
Kenbrell Thompkins has been his up-and-down self, which was the story of his spring and entire rookie season.
Aaron Dobson remains on PUP and continues to miss key reps and time to build a rapport with Brady.
Josh Boyce has also had too many drops and seems to lack that extra gear to go after the ball in the air for a guy who’s supposed to be a big-play speedster.
Van Hooser has stood out at times for his production says something about the middle and bottom of the depth chart of pass catchers so far in camp.
