I wouldn't say that at all. He's probably a training camp body. Signings like these during the season trigger desperation, but during the offseason that is not the case.

Early to say, but what if a player like Wadsworth could come back? I didn't think he was injuried. Wonder if he was playing elsewhere and what made the Jets jump on this guy. Maybe his agent is the agent of some other player or coach.

this is interesting. most likely he ends up training camp fodder but its low risk high reward. I remember wadsworth was a beast and he could surprise the second time around. here is hoping he sux...again.

Why sign him for training camp when you could give a young guy a chance. If you're looking for warm bodies there are better options than guys who have been on the street for seven years.

They're looking to catch lightning in a bottle and see if this guy can actually turn into something. Highly unlikely but I can't blame them for trying. Their are plenty of roster spots to go around so they can still sign young players to give them a chance. Some teams don't even fill up every roster spot going into training camp because there aren't enough players worth filling them with.

Oh and he's 32, has 8.0 career sacks, and three knee surgeries, but apparently Tampa Bay wanted to work him out, too.

A while back I read somewhere that he was looking to get back in the NFL. This isn't the Jets randomly dialing phone numbers in the NFL Alumni phonebook.

I doubt he makes the team and doubt even more he does anything significant if he did make it.

However, years back when we signed a former college wrestler that hadn't played football since high school to try out on the DL, I don't think many people expected him to be our starting RG right now.

He wasn't a bust with the Cardinals. He was not dominating but was getting better and then, if I remember correctly, he had microfracture surgery on his knee at least once.

Probably not much going on there but he did have talent when he came out.

I would have expected him to come back earlier if he was really serious about football. I can't figure out where his sudden desire came from.

At least that bankruptcy should be cleared by now.
