NY POST:.......The Jets also remain interested in Dolphins' DE David Bowens, who has 18 sacks in the last three seasons. The two sides are still working on an agreeable number.

Two other teams, believed to be Carolina and New England, are interested as well. And, Bowens has not ruled out returning to the Dolphins.

TUIASOSOPO TO JOIN JETS
By MARK CANNIZZARO
March 23, 2007 -- MIAMI - The Jets are expected to officially sign former Raiders' quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo within the next day or two. The two sides have reached an agreement in principle on a one-year deal worth $595,000.

Tuiasosopo, 28, is expected to compete with second-year Kellen Clemens for the No. 2 spot behind Chad Pennington. The Jets, though, certainly are hoping Clemens, a second-round draft pick last April, will be the No. 2 with hopes of eventually succeeding Pennington.

After releasing Patrick Ramsey earlier this month because Ramsey was due a $1.2 million roster bonus (he eventually signed with Denver), the Jets needed to bring in a veteran insurance policy in case Clemens doesn't develop.

In Tuiasosopo, though, the Jets aren't exactly bringing in Earl Morrall or Jeff Hostetler. Tuiasosopo, a second-round pick in 2001, has completed 48 of 88 passes (54.5-percent) for 550 yards, two touchdowns and seven interceptions for a paltry 48.0 passer rating.

The Jets, in fact, got a first-hand look at him in 2005 when he started against them and was so bad he was benched in the middle of the game.

In other free-agent news, the Jets signed DE Michael Haynes, a 6-4, 283-pounder who spent three years with the Bears after being selected 14th overall in the 2003 draft. In 43 career games and four starts, Haynes has 89 tackles, including 10 for loss, and 51/2 sacks.

The Jets also remain interested in Dolphins' DE David Bowens, who has 18 sacks in the last three seasons. The two sides are still working on an agreeable number.

Two other teams, believed to be Carolina and New England, are interested as well. And, Bowens has not ruled out returning to the Dolphins.

At 6 foot three and 265 pounds I wonder if he would be turned into OLB if he went to the Jets or came here.

But we have Marquise Hill.

Good size for a linebacker... don't really think that he is all that good though...

Is he fast enough for a LB??? Might they see something in him that can transform him?? I wonder...
