shown on NFL live just now. In a earlier thread, most people didn't want to see the Pats play on Thanksgiving. Also, Saints at Colts is the opening game. For anyone that cares.

Re: Jets at Cowboys on Thanksgiving.....

Nice!
The last thing I want to do is try and watch the game on thanksgiving at my in-laws. For me, the less prime time games, the better.

Re: Jets at Cowboys on Thanksgiving.....

Thank you NFL!!!

Thanskgiviing games are good for the teams involved IMO. They have a short week against another team with a short week then have a long week against a team with a normal week (wouldn't surprise me it that's us).

We want the Dolts to get all the MNF games possible, those are the tough ones when your opponent has a day to a day and a half more than you do.

I think that is overrated (the Monday nighter). The T-day game is only good when you win, and it sucks when you lose.

We'll play the Colts before Thanksgiving. Flex scheduling takes into effect during Week 10. Thanksgiving falls on Week 12. NBC wants Pats-Colts and will likely show it right before flex scheduling takes into effect so CBS can't protect it. The game most likely will be played in early November just like last year.

IIRC, aren't there a handful of games that CAN be protected once FLEX starts??

Both CBS and FOX each get to protect five games that are to be played during the flex scheduling period. CBS and FOX have to choose the five games before the flex scheduling period begins (so they can't go week by week protecting the best matchup). CBS and FOX can't protect games that are played prior to the flex scheduling period. However the schedule is set in stone prior to the flex scheduling period, so whatever games the executives choose in the offseason goes (and NBC gets first choice).

It seems like they always out lame game on Thanksgivings. Maybe that's because the Cowboys and Lions have been pretty lame themselves for the past few years. The Colts-Falcons might be decent, except of course, I don't get the NFL Network.

I don't think it will be NE/Indy one week later for a prime time game (how many times in a row are they going to put Indy on in primetime?). Maybe we'll get the Jets, though, after their long week off.

Re: Jets at Cowboys on Thanksgiving.....

AWESOME - I don't kn ow about the rest of you, but I cannot handle Patriots on Turkey day.

I have enough to do with hosting 25 people, turkey, family, logisitics of it all to also try to plan it out pefectly so that the game is also front and center.

Hell, I damn near was divorced over a very ugly turkey day many many years ago (1984 -- 20-17 loss) when Pats played in Dallas. The game was lost when sure handed Craig James fumbled and cost us the game.

Not only did we lose, but my wife was real close to never speaking to me again, long story there.

Don't forget Tony Eason getting sacked 10 times. I'm not exagerating. Look it up.

Eason was a tough SOB at Illinois, then became infamous for turtling when the pressure was on in the NFL. I think it was this game that was the transition.

Regards,
Chris

I think I would have too if I was sacked ten times in a game.

Re: Jets at Cowboys on Thanksgiving.....

At least the Jets Cowboys game is going to be pretty interesting, I am glad the pats don't have all that short week crap.. there are enough distractions throughout the year.

Re: Jets at Cowboys on Thanksgiving.....

That's great news. Thanks for posting this. You guys always are 1 step ahead here on this board.

I was considering the Pats-Cowboys game as #1 on my road-trip list but was concerned that it would be on Thanksgiving thus making the trip unaffordable.

Now it is on. As long as it doesn't interfere with hunting season. ;)
