At first I wasn't going to include Nelson but most drafts have him going at around 15 and the Pats have already expressed interest in him.

I can only see them trading up for Willis (if he falls far enough). Im not sure they could/would pay what it would cost to get into Landry territory (not to mention the size of the contract he would be looking to get).

Nelson isn't worth wasting the extra pick on. The drop off between him, Griffin, and Meri-Thug is just not significant enough (IMO).

I don't believe that a SAFETY is worth 2 1st round picks AND another pick. And that is probably what it would take to get Landry unless he slides outside of the top 10. I don't see that happening though.

Landry would have to slide to 16 to even consider taking him, but, again, I don't believe he's worth 2 1st round picks.

Honestly, Landry is one of the players who I think has the potential to be a bust. Or, at the very least, only mediocre, in this league. He's been all over the 1st round draft boards. Even in October, most people were talking about him as a top 25 player, not a Top 10. Now, all of a sudden, he's a top 10 player? I don't buy it.

Adams is only one of two players who I think the Pats would contemplate moving up for. The other could be Adam Carriker, but I think that Carriker is less likely. I think that the Jets or Steelers are going to make a play for Carriker.

While Adams is intriguing I don't see Belichick trading two #1s (and maybe more would be needed) for a guy who would be changing positions. I think the biggest trade up we would see would be 4-6 spots but that's about it.

Even in October, most people were talking about him as a top 25 player, not a Top 10. Now, all of a sudden, he's a top 10 player? I don't buy it.

The reason is because he has bulked up from 205 - 225lbs of PURE Muscle, and did not lose any speed in the process (he actually got faster). The early knock on him, was that he needed to add more mass to his frame. I dont think anyone expected him to show up to the combine THAT NFL ready (Physically).

While I know combine performances dont really mean much in allot of instances; Landry's did. Just his Physical transformation was impressive enough to erase allot of the negetives... then he went through the drills and just blew the doors off.

This kid is the best Defensive player in the draft IMO. And it is not really close.

I know it means NOTHING in the grand scheme of things; but check this out...Tell me this isn't impressive! lol-

every player has a chance to be a bust. Landry is 1 of the safest picks in top 15...hes not going to be Ed Reed but he will be like Dawkins. Dawkins was a 1st rounder last yr, went back and polished up and became better. Landry was top 25 early in season but he had a strong year which got him to top 15 and ran very well and eliminated 1 of the questions about him not being 1 of the fastest safeties in draft. Landry is a safe pick ..hes unlikely to bust

there's only a few players I would trade up for, and only a few ways I would trade up.

The only type of significant trade up I would consider: Trading into the teens, by pulling the two for two trade with GB (24+28 for 16+47). This way NE is moving up the first round significantly (8 spots), but they still get two picks, instead of trading both picks for one. The Points equal out, as well.

The other type of trade up I would consider is trading away one or both of their six rounds picks to move up one or two spots.

NE could trade up to 16 (with GB) then use their two sixth round picks to move up further if they wanted. In this instance NE could get up to 14th overall in the first, and still have: 47th overall, 91st overall, 124th overall, 5th comp, 6th comp, 6th comp, 7th comp = 8 picks.

NE could also use those sixth rounders to move up in the 2nd, 3rd, or fourth. I think they are in prime position to make some moves this draft, because of the moves they already made during free agency.

I wouldn't want to trade away their 3rd, or 4th round picks because I think there's going to be some pretty talented S's, RB's, LB's, and CB's still available during those rounds.

The only players I would trade into the teens for: Willis, Revis, Nelson (if they are seriously interested), Carriker.

As indicated in other posts, if we trade both firsts for an 11-15 pick, we would get a Day One pick back, hopefully a second. We would still have the SAME number of Day One draft picks. In the end, we would have a pick in each of the first four rounds. That would be fine with me, if bb needed to move up to get his targeted player for six years.

Exactly, I've seen three different people say something about the cutoff being pick 15, but this is wrong. first 16 for six, second 16 for 5. That's part of why the 24+28 for 16+47 deal is so attractive to me.
