didn't they have a chance LAST season? If I'm remembering correctly they let him pass then. Why now, a year later?

and yeah, I thought they'd take a shot with him last year...what can they lose?

They should have taken him last season. He at least would have been another capable body in there to sub in and out with Nink and Chandler.

Would love to see them at least give him a look. Need another guy in the rotation so Nink and Jones don't wear down by the end of the year.

Would be a nice fit in the Mark Anderson role but with Smith and Buchannon, I'm not sure they have the space for him.

Never really been a fan of Babin.

I wouldn't mind adding talent like that but I have a friend that works for the Eagles and he called the trade to Jacksonville before it happened...he says the guy's a jerk and locker room cancer

I've also heard he's a one-trick pony, to an absurd degree. He basically has to pin his ears back and rush the passer or he's not gonna do anything.

That's what Mark Anderson did here. Not every player on the team has to be a 4 down player.

Unless they think Smith is shot, they should pass on this guy. He's not beating out Bequette, after all.

Wouldn't be so sure about Bequette even being on the team opening day. Guy couldn't even get on the field last year when we badly needed to spell the d-ends.

Welcome to Patsfans.com, where Patriots fans from across the world get together to talk world cup soccer. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Glad to be here although I really couldn't care less about soccer.

After watching the afc championship game last year and seeing our non existent pass rush in that game, I am all in favor of giving anyone a shot that can remotely get to the quarterback.

Sounds like a perfect 3rd and long situational addition to me.

More of a me first player

Well, as I have stated and tried to explain to people here pass rush has to do with many factors. Putting back in 2 better DTs who will be commanding more double teams will open things up for more one on one match ups for the ends. Plus the added pressure those DTs will bring up the middle.

Also, we have heavily upgraded the secondary which will help the pass rush. Plus adding in guys who can play press will not allow as many quick completions.

So if healthy, who they have now will be a big upgrade from last years AFCCG.

You still need a rotation of capable DE's, though. Jones, Nink, Smith, Buchanan, and Babin would look like a pretty nice rotation to me.
