He was saying something to the effect of: They’re the old champs…their time is done. They’re the chumps….we’re the new champs.

Wow! I didn't know about this. I remember getting miffed with his comments after their loss to us last season, but since I admired his grit in making it back after his injury, I ignored it as the post-loss trauma. Him calling us 'chumps' or something in that line is disrespectful. Similar to Berryman's sorry declaration against Brady at the Charger's 'victory' parade. Palmer now joins my list of players that I am never going to respect.

QBs are special.

Still, verbalized or not, their is a veteran pecking order on the Pats and rookies need to prove themselves.

In a physically taxing and disciplined game like football, this is a very good thing.

When you think about it, we were without BOTH our starting safeties (Harrison & Wilson) prior to the playoffs, our starting ILB (Seau), and then lost one of our backup safeties (Hawkins, the starting safety in the playoffs) in the Indy game. Add to that, 15 guys with the flu, and yet we were still one minute away from winning SB XXXXI. I have no doubt we would have beaten the Bears also, OUR D would have made Grossman look even worse that what INDY's D did. Though it hurts, you have to be proud of the 2006 Pats.

The Tennessee game actually cost us a SB win, I think we win the Indy game if Harrison is in the lineup. Oh well, that's football.

LOL did he? If anyone finds a link do post it! Some people should learn to just sit there and look smart rather than opening their mouths and ruining the aura.

That said,I always liked Palmer and no doubt his return from that injury brought with it some high hopes. They all sound like Freddie Mitchell,though,don't they?

Definitely. Though we made adjustments for his injuries we didn't "replace" him nor have we found a substitute who brings what he brings.Just knowing he was back there made a difference;he made opponents nervous at the very least.

If and when the day comes the Pats believe they've found someone who comes close to being a Rodney Harrison (or a Tedy, or a Troy)-they must get him. Players like him (them) don't just come up every year.

I have met Rodney several times. My wife and I actually had a chance to talk to him and his wife for about 10 minutes, after the '04 sb dvd premiere.

The guy is a class act off the field. You would never believe it was the same person. He is going to make a great coach some day. lol- I have some pretty cool pics of him and BB posing with their SB rings.

We got lucky, and had seats right (Directly) in front of them inside the theater. All we had to do was turn around and ask them if we could take some pics. I was so nervous talking to Bill, that my wife had to chime in and save me from embarrassment... I felt like a giant ****! lol- Funny, because I had no problem talking to Rodney... but when it came to BB, I started stuttering and sounded like an idiot.
