The Heat LOSE! (Sorry Kontra)

As far as hating the Heat goes, I was fully on that train during the 10-11' season. I bought into the whole thing about LeBron being the worst person ever, even though, in hindsight, it's pretty obvious that The Decision was as much a strategic blunder on the part of his PR crew as it was on his, and that he likely didn't think of the idea on his own. After the Mavs upset Miami, though, my feelings towards them went from hate to "I'd rather they not win, but I don't really despise them". So, although I rooted against them, I wasn't all that upset that Lebron and his team won a pair of rings. I do believe that he is the best player in the league today, even if I tend to think that the "he has no help" argument has kinda fallen flat since he left the Cavs. I think during the first year in Miami, he got too caught up in the hype surrounding the Heat, but he wasn't alone (*coughcoughWadecoughcoughEspncoughcough*) and he doesn't really strike me as all that bad of a guy. Perhaps his on-court conduct isn't great, but I love watching Pierce, KG, and Rondo play, and they've also said/done things that I found foolish.

My rooting for the Spurs this year, was more about the fact that I prefer how that team is structured to how Miami's is. With the Heat, you get a team that seems to live or die based on the performances of their 3 stars. The rumors about the Heat trying to acquire Melo only fed into my perception that the team building approach of Miami's FO is simply "get more superstars through FA". Perhaps it's a valid strategy, but it's simply not the type of team that I like to watch. In contrast, the Spurs team structure is one that's more reliant on the collective performance of the team, and I really admire that.

Yeah, ***** slapping the old slow dinosaur version of Paul Pierce. Even in 2010 when they were past their prime, they made LeBron quit in Cleveland and go team up with superstars.
Who were LeBron's teammates on that Cleveland squad? Was Anderson Varjao supposed to bring the pain in the paint? Mo Williams was his most effective teammate on that team. Any idea where he is nowadays? Again, one man cannot beat a complete team. In this case, the Celtics went on to represent the East in the Finals that year, so they did pretty well for dinosaurs. As soon as LeBron got some teammates who could actually contribute, the Heat mopped the floor with the Celtics in five then took them out in 7 the following year en route to winning the Finals.

That's about where I stand with Lebron now, I root against Miami but I don't hate him. TBH I wouldn't even say I dislike him, mainly Wade I can't stand and I have a few Heat fans (these are the since 2011 variety) polluting my FB newsfeed everytime they win. Lebron since has seemed to accept that the decision was a ****ty thing to do and offered a sincere apology to Cleveland. And like they say, winning cures everything. He was a beast in the past 3 playoffs/finals, even this one that they lost. It's not like a Peyton Manning type choke where he crumbled with the rest of the team, Lebron actually performed while his team was just simply overmatched.

Chris Andersen is the first to opt out. Let's see who follows. The only guy on the bench that I would like to keep is Norris Cole. The rest of them can go. And I sincerely hope Wade decides to retire. I really don't want to watch him in another team's jersey. I've never liked Carmelo Anthony. I think he's a ball hog. But they need someone that can come in and consistently score with LeBron. The only two choices there are Melo and Kevin Love.

You understand why anybody can root for LeBron because you're a Celtics fan and he suddenly made a habit of ***** slapping the Celtics in the playoffs after some early success against the guy. Look only as far as the personal lives between LeBron James and Michael Jordan to see some remarkable differences. One guy was a gambling degenerate scum bucket with a history of punching his teammates in the face and the other guy married his high school sweet heart and said he "loves watching his teammates be successful". I could go further on that, but your allegiance as far as your favorite basketball team goes may not be conducive to a productive conversation. Not saying that as a slight against you. It just is what it is. It would have been the same thing if I brought up Garnett possibly being a racist a few years ago and Paul Pierce being a huge drama queen.

LeBron "Whimpy" James is hardly what I'd call a ***** slapper, although he does cry like a *****.

Michael Jordan had success against my team and I don't dislike him or any of his teammates. Same for Magic Johnson, Michael Cooper and Kareem. The same is also true to a much lesser extent for those Piston teams with Isiah Thomas, Lambeer and the Fruitcake.

Some players, like Duncan, win with class. Lebron doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Btw, I never knew that Michael Jordan married his high school sweetheart.

This is an example of why I stated in the post you quoted that it would be impossible for the two of us to have a productive conversation.

If you don't dislike Jordan's character then you're a horrible judge of character. There are a host of negative traits that I could bring up. The guy even brought his high school coach to his HOF induction just so he could **** talk him. He's a degenerate scum bag. If LeBron did half the things that Jordan actually got praised for because, you know, he was just "so competitive", the media would literally crucify LeBron.

I challenge you to bring up an example of LeBron specifically smack talking a team or player after winning the title.

Btw, I never knew that Michael Jordan married his high school sweetheart.

No but he had some reported extra marital affairs as well as a rumored cool $5M that he reneged on paying one of his mistresses. Class-A human being.

I have grown to like lebron as a person, even with his nonchalant "i dont care, life goes on" attitude after losing in the playoffs.....he seems like a decent person.....he will never be the pure scorer that jordan was, and thats why people diminish him partly, because scoring is seen as the pinnacle of bball and jordan was the best at that....i see lebron as like pippen 3.0.....hes great at everything.....scoring, passing, rebounding, defense....also his game is not as aesthetic as jordan, fluid and pretty to watch.....he will definitely go down as an all time great, but not the GOAT.....even if he is a better guy than mj

That series in 2011 wasn't like this years finals 5 game series. Was pretty tight in 4 & 5. Had Rondo not gotten hurt probably would have went the distance again.

Wade and Bosh if we leave emotion out of it...will be interesting decisions if they opt out. I know you said you wanted Wade to retire but if you look at his raw numbers they were pretty good. He's always kinda been a lazy defender, never wanted to chase Ray Allen around but he played some nice d vs the Pacers (granted it was Indy...) I think he can still contribute to a title contender. Wade at 10mill would be ideal imo. As for Bosh...the amount it costs to get him I don't think is worth it. Spo has turned him into a spot up shooter and I just don't think he's worth 14+ mill for what he does. Solid defender and jump shooter but I need more than that. Perhaps you could sign and trade him for Asik, Jones, and picks. I wouldn't let any sleep over letting Chalmers go if he asks for too much. Cole would be a pretty good starter.

Wade's knees are shot. I would be surprised if he had more than two semi-quality years left in him. I would take him as a role player for a role player contract but he can't be relied upon to score consistently in the playoffs because he breaks down. Look at the amount of time he sat this season. He played outstanding in the Nets and Pacers series, then finally broke down vs. the Spurs. I also wouldn't lose sleep over Bosh and Chalmers. Cole is pretty much the only guy on the bench I would like to see the team keep. The rest of them, including Ray Allen, can be thrown in the trash.

I cant even argue with LeBron and Heat fans. It's just annoying is all. Kontra is easily one of the better Heat fans I know. He and one of my friends aren't bad. But the rest of them are beyond annoying.

I hate him and that team they formed. Simple.

If LBJ joined the Celtics I don't know whether I would like it or hate it... haven't decided that.. I obviously would be happy we have the best player in the world and would be winning but I think I would still be mighty critical of LBJ

They won that 7-game series only because of the crooked zebras.

Little Johnny Heartbroken from Cleveland Ohio has a message for LeBran....

The man had plenty of critics while alive, can't you just let him rest in peace?

Yeah, LeBron scoring a career playoff high in an elimination game had nothing to do with it. Neither did Chris Bosh draining 3's like they were going out of style.

You're right that had the crooked zebras not stolen that series from Boston, James' & Bosh's scoring
would have had nothing to do with it.
