Opens a spot for Merriweather or Griffin to fall to you in the draft. (I'm still praying that Nelson doesn't! :D )

Dang, was hoping Pats might take a look at this guy. But still, as the Colts' fan sagely notes, one less team taking a S in round 1.

I think with Pats lack of movement towards DBs in FA, they are clearly going with a minimum of 1 DB, if not 2 in round 1. Which I'm more than happy with.

Hell, I'll take two safeties. :)

I knew he was going to sign with the Cowboys, and made a comment about it in the draft section earlier today. I like this and it could make Reggie Nelson falling to NE at 24 more of a possibility.

NE might even have their choice of Nelson, Griffin, and Meriweather at 24.

I believe the Hamlin signing was a good deal for Dallas and I bet it was one of those one year deals also but now I guess Roy Williams will be in the Box more in Wade Phillips defensive system.

thats a smart pick-up 4 dallas, since willis is probably gona be taken if we sit at 24, but id be surprised if Reggie Nelson isnt there at 24 so I hope we take him, it would be nice having a ball hawk at the safter position...

I'd like to see that pats give away somoe of those multitude of 5th, 6th and 7th round picks and move up and get nelson.

entirely wrong type of player for the "boys: they'll regret it in two years. Pretty much solidifies the rumor that their going after Houston in the draft.

Re: Hamlin off the Market

dear lord. your slower than Duane Starks

its all up to carolina and jax now
if both pass on nelson, he should be ours

btw, now we cant blame tony romo for not gettin nelson, lol

It was only a one year deal:

Jean-Jacques Taylor, of the Dallas Morning News, reports the Dallas Cowboys have signed unrestricted free-agent FS Ken Hamlin (Seahawks) to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.

Plus, I read somewhere that Carolina was leaning toward a WR with the pick. Don't remember where, but I read that for sure. Doesn't mean it's going to actually happen, but that would be REALLY nice for us if it did because the other position they can get is LB (especially Willis), or S (don't think they'll get Nelson because it would be a reach at 14 unless they trade down, but if Landry drops...also probably not going to happen).

So Nelson or Willis could drop to us? Would be a tough choice if both are there at 24!
I'd probably have to take Willis and then scoop up Griffin with #28 if that were the situation.
Wonder what BB would do though. :)
Maybe he'd trade 28+3rd rounder for #25 and take both Nelson and Willis. Hehe. Naah it couldn't happen.
