Per Adam Schefter. Right now looks like deal is nearly complete with Giants. I've always loved Wilson, will be glad to see him out of Denver. :)

I don't know if NE would be interested (or if Denver would even trade him). He might be too short (6') for a NE LB.

But again, just glad to see him out of Denver. Hopefully they won't get too much in return.

Trade is for cap reasons, due to Henry & Graham signings.

denver has lost there minds to put the team in a position where they have to let wilson go.i would rather have wilson over graham and henry .

They have cap room right now. They just want to realize an asset while he has great value. He doesn't have great shoulders and Shanahan is hedging his bets that his best days are behind him. Of course Denver will say it's for cap reason and not health/production reasons.

Denver will either move DJ Williams inside or Nate Webster or possibly move up for Willis. Rumours out of the U have the Broncos high on Beason.

since when is there a height limit for Patriots LBs? Bruschi aint that tall..u dont need height to play in our system. you dont need weight. if u know how to play..you know how to play!

I think the chances for the Patriots getting Al Wilson are nihil.

There are some teams you just don't trade with, and out side of division rivals, I think the Patriots and the Colts are teams the Broncos would never trade with. Would you trade Asante to us? I don't think so.

Um, if this happens, Nate Webster would be ok, but I think we'd be better off getting Vilma, though there's talk DJ Williams might play MIKE. IMO, he is the most talented of our linebackers, but I don't know if he can call the defense and such. It's true, Wilson is on the decline. But he's one of the great Broncos and I'll love him anyway. If we can get their first or Osi for Al I'd be thrilled.

I actually tend to agree with you on that. Truth be told, I only added that caveat so some of the know-it-all killjoys on this board wouldn't jump down my throat telling me Pats LBs have to be X height, Y weight, etc. and that I don't know anything about football. :)

I thought the Broncos were loading up for a run this year but trading/cutting Wilson would have to suggest they have a longer range plan. The guy is a rock - not a super star, but a rock the rest of the team can depend on. I wonder if there might be more to this story. Every team has to move on, but when you're so close to reaching for the SB and you'd benefit from a rock solid D to ease the pressure on a young QB, dumping a 1A mainstay from your strongest unit seems like questionable judgement.

Oh yeah, I'd love to see Wilson beside Vrabel/Brushci/Thomas/Colvin, wow, what a group that would be. But Denver would have to be stoned to send him our way, really stoned.

Al Wilson is one of my all time favorite players, one of the best linebackers today that you have never heard of. oh well now we wont have to face him anymore

Al Wilson has always killed us...Glad to see him move on...Gaints need more than Wilson, maybe a decent qb:D

Was he the one barfing on the field toward the end of the game last year in NE?

Except in the Meadowlands this fall.

That was Patrick Chukwurah. Ha ha.

He plays for the Bucs now.

I was at that game and I saw that. Thought I was the only one.
Man he wasn't just upchucking a little bit he was spewing like linda Blair. I was screaming for Brady to hurry and take the snap.
I have to give the guy credit though because he recovered at the snap to drive the tackle in the backfield. Think it was Light.

He did always kill us, send him to the NFC!

I bet you Shakenbake saw that 4.37 from Willis and figures he needs to get more picks to trade up to get him.

I am very surprised by this announcement. All the talk here in Denver the past month have only been rumors.
