A Look At Our Division Rivals...

I disagree. I thought Brad Smith was a good pick for the Jetsies. He has the Randel-El role for the Jets. he did some nice things,a nd was great on ST. I also like Leon Washington. I think the Jetsies had a solid draft last year.

But I do think the Jets will falter some this year. They were really a prduct f the AFC east weak schedule last year, and their 2 differential games last year were vs the Raiders and Cleveland. The 2 worst teams in the AFC.

also think that teams will generally take a step back, before taking another 2 steps forward as the NFL now has a book on them, both the coaches and players that they didnt have last year. Also they were such an injury free team last year, its tough to do that 2 years in a row. I see an 8-8, 7-9 season for them.

This is the most accurate statement that I have heard thus far in regards to the Jests success last season. Let's face it people they had a VERY weak schedule last year, and were extremely lucky in regards to having very few major injuries. We will see what they do this year against tougher competition........one man's opinion

You don't need to take it personally. It's ok that the Dolphins aren't our toughest competition. After all, you guys had an undefeated season, what, 35 years ago?

It doesn't matter where I saw the Jets at the beginning of last year. It matters where I see them now that Mangini has shown what kind of coach he's going to be.

And who's to say I'm going to be wrong with the way things shape out? I think that's the only straw a Dolphin fan has to grasp at - the hope that some miracle injury will change the landscape, cuz it sure don't look good for you guys right now!

I could care less what you think of the Dolphins or where you see them ending their season. My point is every year people do these types of posts and every year their wrong.

I was right on the money last year.

I totally get where you're coming from. I just hate when people forecast the AFC East and get the whole thing wrong. Hmmmm.... kind of like when a lot of pundits had the Dolphins finishing first, only to see them fall to last, again.

The FABULOUS Cam Cam~!

Anyway, I don't get it. You scold the thread starter for making a prediction against the Fins saying that predictions don't mean sh!t and then you make a prediction of the Fins being successful? Hypocracy, maybe?

Ummm ok, wheres the prediction?? I din't say we would finish anywhere in the standings. I was explaining Miami situation, not predicting the future...unless saying Miami will have a better QB situation is predicting the future, but that's more of a common sense thing then a predicition thing.

Assuming no critical injuries to our key players I don't see any AFCE team ending up closer than 4 games of the Pats.

As for who that team might be ....... I can say for almost certainty that it won't be the Dolphins. So I'll gove them 4th in the division.

As for 2nd and 3rd spots, flip a coin between the Bills and Jets. Both teams are in year 2 of their rebuild jobs and still a ways away.

If the Pats overlook any of these teams they could steal a game from us in the end.

SamBam's AFCE analysis was very good, I thought. Your addition was spot on as well. The Phish have no O line or even the pretense of one; it will kill them.

The highest rated division in the NFL last season by the Sagarin ratings and total OOD record, I would list the AFC East as follows:

Pats
.
big gap
.
Jets
Bills
.
gap
.
Dolphins

Don't bother. If you say anything even remotely bad about the Dolphins then in his eyes you are a complete idiot.

Riiiggghhhttt!!!!, and where did you see the Jets at the start of last season?? Ya know what predictions this time of year amount too?? Nothing! Seriously what's the point? You're going to be wrong about the way things shake out, so why bother posting an opinion on something you have no idea about?? One key injury could change the entire landscape of the division.

Wow, poor assesment on your part, most of what you said about Cam Cameron could be said about Eric Mangini or Sean Peyton, except Cam has been the best OC the last 3 or 4 years. Plus Miami has Dom Capers, who has HC experience, that will help cam with the transition. Besides I don't think inexperience as a HC means much, as history has proven. As for the state of the team being in disarray, this is obviously more wishful thinking by Pat fans then anything else. All Miami has lost that's of any value is W.Welker and R.McMichael. Wes was a nice player, but isn't a huge loss, his heart will be missed more then anything. Other then those two players Miami has lost nothing but backups...who weren't very good at that.

Miami has gotten a few extra picks in this years draft and we have the 9th overall pick. There is also plenty of time left in FA and there are still cuts to be made. We are a long ways from the start of the season and there is still plenty of upgrades to be made. Miami's QB position will be better this year no matter who starts, add that with Cams ability to coach QB's and call a game and Miami's biggest weakness, their Offense, will be better then last year guaranteed!!! Our Defense ins the best in the division and could be better with the addition of Poter on the other side of Taylor.

If you ask me Miami has more upside then the Jets, all we've needed that last several years is an effective Offense, Cam makes that likely.

You are such a tool.

ok....WE HAVE THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE DIVISION!!!

Your defense is really good with the addition of Porter and quite possibly Alan Branch or Laron Landry on draft day, the Pats have the best d in the division

Really?? We are ranked higher without the help of a playoff offense, we have the leading tackler in the NFL and we have the Defensive MVP. Now what exactly about NE's D is better??

Miami has far more success in the NFL then the Pats.......far,far more!!!

The Fins secondary is a joke.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

You blast the guy for saying the Dolphins are in a transition phase and it is unclear which direction they are going. This is kind of a duh but you find a way to disagree with it.
