I have a question (as the title hinted).

Is there a limit to the amount of college players that can visit or workout for an NFL team prior to the draft?

If so, how many?

Does it have any bearing of the college player is local (from the same state)??

Thanks

If I recall correctly it's 20, though "local" schools may send unlimited numbers.

I would never question Box, but I could have sworn it was 30.

Swearing is so vulgar, but since I'm relying on an increasingly faulty memory it may be appropriate. Perhaps the best way to resolve this is an e-mail to Mike Reiss.

A mad Hatter, eh?? Good luck with Blackwell!! ;)

Oh God, please don't tell him that! Next up will be turbans and Ed McMahon's voice over!
This from the sweet lady who likes caviar pizza. **sigh** Pepperoni and mushroom isn't good enough for some people. :(

Hey, don't knock caviar pizza! Those salty little guys are almost as good as anchovies IMHO.

You know I love you Box!!! Adoration from your massive fan club is well deserved!!! They could just be a little more discreet about it!:p

Yea, I just found it over on the Planet the other day. Guess he's spending his time over there. I'll have to visit more often to stay current with him. Thks for the heads up.!

Found an illuminating article.

The Box-ster was spot on!

Anyone surprised?

Didn't think so ;)
Interesting, I wasn't aware they all had to come in at the same time, unless that restriction has since been lifted. I have to wonder what the purpose of smoozing the player is in these visits, it's not as if the kid has any say over where he gets drafted? I have this shadow of a memory of Luis Castillo visiting, this was after he and his agent had ackowledged the use of a banned substance to help him heal his elbow in time for the Combine/Pro-day, the memory shadow had to do with him also getting a physical while at Gillette. I guess we'll have to keep a close eye on Reiss, Breer, and company to see if there are any local details forthcoming.

I'm pretty sure it's 20.

Interesting article.

Off topic but I hope they incorporate that feature in Madden 08 where you can have the option of interviewing a prospect or taking them out to dinner maybe to get them more likely to sign a cap friendly deal.
I hated how in 07 you had to "win" the minicamp type drills just to get info on a player. That sucked.
