Real lack of depth at both positions are we ever gonna take a guy at either position?

Maybe we sign Keller or is moving Harrison to TE an realistic possibility?

The only TEs worth a darn were gone by 62. Don't know about LB. There were guys available fairly late.

All the TE's were gone early. I don't think that we wanted Fiedorowitz. Some didn't even have him in the top 100 players.

As far as LB, I thought that there were some players available in 3rd and 4th. Many of these players weren't drafted until the 7th, if at all. I think that Draftek had us drafting Skov in the 2nd for weeks; I think that he went undrafted. So, my conclusion is that quality wasn't there, even when we picked in the 2nd.

I would want us to sign Keller. Both Williams and Harrison are possibilities as the move TE. BTW, Williams probably grades out higher than all but the top 4 TE's in this draft.

I was surprised Rodgers and Gilmore went in the 3rd.

I'm not , at a certain point it was clear that the TE's were going to be gone fast with teams reaching for them.

Once ASJ and Amaro were all gone, I still had hopes for FIedorowicz, would fit like a glove here.

Let's see what is going to be the plan, we really need at least one quality TE, it's not possible BB is going on the udfa route.

I thought for sure that these two areas would be addressed via the draft, but what do I know??

Think we are thin at both positions...

High tower, Mayo, and Collins are the starters. We drafted Beauranis last year, and we picked up a ST in FA. If there's an emergency Ninko can always drop back to LB.

Considering we spend a lot of time in Dime formation, I think we are fine with LB.

Maybe BB is going to unveil his new no TE offense until Gronk returns.

The only player to consider was Fiedorowicz who went 65 but he went higher than expected. This year was a really weak class in TEs and agree there was noone available at 62.

They've signed 3 as UDFA, including Jones from ECU. Very intriguing guy.

These two just confirms what I have been saying. This TE class was very limited. BB was smart enough not to waste picks on Hoomanwanui clones, and I applaud him for that.

I agree, there were massive reaches for jags at TE. The talent just wasn't there.

LB, to me, is the big mystery of this class. BUT -- it's not just a mystery for the Patriots. Take a look at some of the LBs who went undrafted, along with their projected slot from NFLDraftScout.

Christian Jones (3) (!!! Most here would have been delighted with the "value" of drafting him at #105. Has to be more to that story than we know. Injury/character risks?)
Shayne Skov (3-4)
Brock Coyle (4-5)
Adrian Hubbard (5)
Max Bullough (5-6)
Plus Carl Bradford, Jordan Tripp, Telvin Smith and others went later than most expected.

Did you know that he reportedly failed a Drug Test at the Combine?

That wouldn't seem to account for such a precipitous fall, but who knows?

He did, but so did a ton of players who didn't slide nearly as dramatically: Telvin Smith, Timmy Jernigan, Seantrel Henderson, etc.

Right. Like I said: It wouldn't seem to account for it. Just wondering if you knew.

Yeah, it could certainly be a pointer to bigger issues. (Heaven knows it was with Hernandez.)

Of all drug tests to fail, the COMBINE drug test is a particular red flag to me. You know for months and months that it's coming, and that it can have a huge effect on your future and earnings potential. If you can't stay clean for that, it would seem to suggest something: a real drug problem, a general lack of self-discipline and professionalism, or just deep-down stupidity.

Jimmy, we hardly knew ye: released already (failed physical perhaps); too bad.
