Ok.. I think its many years running that the person who ends up on the cover of Madden ends up getting hurt or doing poorly.

Madden 2007 - Shaun Alexander - missed 6 games and part of 2 more.
Madden 2006 - Donovan McNabb - Missed 7 games due to injury
Madden 2005 - Ray Lewis - Missed the last game of 2005 and Missed 10 games in 2005
Madden 2004 - Michael Vick - Vick missed 11 games
Madden 2003 - Marshall Faulk - Missed 2 games due to injury first season with more than 10 games but under 1000 yards with the Rams
Madden 2002 - Duante Culpepper - missed 5 games due to injury.
Madden 2001 - Eddie George - The ONLY player to don the Madden cover and NOT get injured.
Madden 2000 - Dorsey Levens - missed 2 games to injury and Packers go 8-8

Who is going to be on the cover of Madden and suffer the "curse"?

It's going to be Peyton, of course. I heard he charges 200k if Madden wants him to appear personally at the prom. I mean, the unveiling.

When do they announce that? Has there been any rumors? My wild guess would be L.T.

Edit: Depends on the game changes... if it's leaning defense changes in the game, I'd personally go with Jason Taylor, not sure he's as marketable nationally as Thomlinson. No disrespect, I hate Jason Taylor. :)

If you check back a month or so,there was already a thread started on this SAME topic

Who cares as long it doesn't include any PATS player!!!!

BTW I still say it will be Brian Urlacher of the Bears on the cover.

Forget Manning,Brady and Chad Johnson...Chad is on NFL Street 3 this past year and Manning is on that Xbox version and Brady did NFL Gameday.

In my memory there was never a player on the cover of a game more than once - People seem to forget the jinx is now the EA Sports Jinx - Look on the Cover of NBA Live 07,Who is there? - Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat who is probably gone for the remainder of the season with a messed up shoulder.

the pats are going to be fun to play with this year :singing: :singing: :singing:

I hope it's Peyton Manning on that cover. That would just about cinch it! :D

Are you for real?

People aren't going to check back a month or so, ok?
And people don't log on every day and make sure they don't miss a single post!

And Earth to you, it's quite ok if people talk about the same subject more than once!

Get a hobby or something, your taking this message board waaay too seriously and being way too anal.

Lighten up!!!

I think it will be LT or Vince Young....

L.T. without a doubt in my mind. Who else can be on there? Nobody got the press coverage that Tomlinson did.

Personally, I don't believe it is going to be a QB or a RB this year, maybe not even a LB either. Madden has been a year by year thing last 3 years for different positions, depending on the new feature they come up with. 2005, the hit stick, therefore, Ray Lewis. 2006, QB vision, therefore McNabb. 2007, RB moves, therefore, Alexander. I don't know which position they will focus on this year, but it seems to me it would probably be something other then those three. WR? CB? even OL? I can see them going with WR routes easily but that is just my guess. Who knows?

i heard that they were going to focus more on the defensive side...it'll probably be urclacher....or taylor, since he was the defensive poy....but on the other hand, LT broke a lot of records last year so that might superceed everything....and peyton finally won his only superbowl...so that might count for something...even though someone already pointed out his xbox game

after urlacher or LT they should have jonathan odgen baby!!

If what you're saying is true and they will focus on defense again, then I just can't see another LB (Lewis in 05 for hit stick). I do see Taylor for D-line maybe or secondary is also possible. Also, I read somewhere that the Madden team starts working on their ideas for the next one in August, right after the release date. So I don't see how LT's great season and especially Manning winning a SuperBowl have much to do with it since they probably have already decided to feature defense even before the regular season started. My 2 cents.

well they did do marshall faulk and then another hb alexander, so LB isnt out of the question, but yeah, def. poy taylor is possible....

also did vick/mcnabb

lol if they do taylor, then the curse will hit taylor...and he'll probably retire at season's end

in a perfect world, they would put Izzo on the cover...the man is a hero

It makes you wonder with all the bad karma that surrounds being on the cover, why a player would endorse his picture for it. I mean money talks, but with the history of the Madden cover, there's no amount of money they could pay me to put my pic on there.

Really? No amount of money?

They could me on the cover for a case of beer and a packet of crisps.

Madden Curse don't exist. If someone believe it exists, he is a complete moron.

Madden cover guy is related to what Madden added to this year's version. Last year big addition was RB related. So Alexander was logical. (defense playmaker addition in 2005 edition: Ray Lewis was the cover guy). What will be their addition this year?
