We've done this the past few years, but I haven't seen anything so far this time around. How it works...

We have 32 participants... each picks their own team.

For example, I'll let someone else be the Pats, so I'll take the Cowboys at pick #22.

Then we let the draft flow out on one thread. Whoever is the Raiders starts things off, followed by poster X with the Lions, and so on. Simple.

You pick on the basis on team need and guys who you like or who you think will fit in best with their respective NFL franchise. Don't pick on the basis of "Hmmm how can I screw the Raiders or Jets?" or even "How will this pick give the Pats a leg up?"

I think a Sunday afternoon would be the best time to do this as it's the time we'd be able to have people ready to draft without work/family commitments getting in the way.

Also, I cannot remember, do we go more than one round? If so maybe we go to round 4 or we can do the whole thing. Let's see what the consensus is on this issue and then we'll decide.

What do you guys think?

BUMP...

I'll take the Patriots :)

I'll take Da Bears.

If we're doing multiple rounds then I'll take Atlanta. Hate their team but love where there picking. Plus it gives me a chance to dig out the old Little Feat albums.

I'll take the Broncos please.

But don't you think Sunday afternoons is prime for family conflicts? It's the offseason and I know my wife is aware of that fact. Sunday evening would be best, followed by Friday and Saturday evenings.

I would take the Minnesota Vikings.

Great idea.

I'll take the Browns.

Seymour93- Cowboys
Mavfan2390-Patriots
chunkypony- Bears
SamBamsFan- Falcons
ayjackson-Broncos
broadwayjoe- Vikings
ironwasp- Browns

btw--last year we suffered from absentee owners--we should limit this to 2 or 3 rounds, start at the beginning of April and allow X hrs per selection--starting at 30 minutes from the end of the time slot a quorum can be established by a minimum of 5 owners to determine a default pick for the team on the clock.

If we go 2 rounds, that would be 3 picks/day--pretty easy to meet that pace.

If I may emphasize one ground rule...

Two threads only for all posts related to this game. One to announce all draft picks/trades, one for discussion of the ongoing mock.

(This type of interactive mock is a big favorite, but last year the proliferation of threads paralyzed the draft board. So I have been asked to merge the heck out of any noncompliant threads, like so: :violent:)

Thanks!

yeah, but what's your team?

Can we get a sticky until things are settled (a date set, 32 players committed), please?

Ohh BTW, trades or no trades? I'm voting no trades.

I vote no trading players, but trading picks with correct values is ok (i.e. using the value board to mak equivalent trades. No "Raiders #1 for Patriots 6th rounder" or something)

Nobody else wants to do this?

thats what happened to me last year trying to do it i'd say iff you don't get 32 just let the others split the teams.

I'll do it and i'll take the Texans.

and has for trade i'd say since we have a mod with knowlegde she should have final say if it can be approved much like the commishiner or if she doesn't want the job i'll take it

I wonder if it might be easier for people to participate if you simply set a date for it to start and allowed the draft to run for a couple of weeks rather than occupying one specific afternoon? Then you perhaps allow people to dip in and out when they can get online.

49ers I think.

I'm fine with your proposal. But we need a 12 hour limit between picks.
