Without a trade-up, who do folks think that we might want at 62?

I HOPE the best bargain is at TE or LB.

I suspect that the best value will be at WR, RB or QB.

OL, DE, WR, or S. If Brooks is around he might be the guy. Likewise K Martin

Someone is going to fall. Nix perhaps? Or a TE or RB (Hyde or Mason).

I thought there were a lot of picks in the first round that surprised me quite a bit. The OT the Phins picked was one I never heard of (WTF) also the fact that all 4 of the top S's didn't make it to Friday, while 4 of the top 5 TE's will be there tomorrow. The more I'm reading about Easly, the more I'm warming to the pick.

The Pats have 2 picks tomorrow, and I am hoping that TE, speed LB, OL or DE will be the positions taken. Perhaps ASJ and Crichton, or a C/OLB combo. We shall see.

There's a ton of good talent left. The WR group is excellent: Lee, Robinson, Latimer, Matthews, Adams. The 5-techs Hageman and Tuitt are still there, and NT Nix. DEs Ealy, Chriton, Attaochu and Martin. OLs Bitonio, Richburg and Su'a-Filo. Every TE except Ebron, and every RB in the draft.

Some personal favorites: Robinson, Bitonio, Richburg.

If ASJ/Amaro fall and we can walk out with one of the two I'd be pretty happy. The big thing here going forward is what's going on with Houston and Mallet trade..what are we getting/giving? Going to be interesting to see it unfold.

I forgot about Robinson in my lists. You've listed about 20 players there. There will still be good players at 62.

Plus I purposely left out Kyle Van Noy, because I just have an irrational bad feeling about him as a prospect.

That surprises me. I like Van Noy. Not sure he's explosive enough to be a real impact player but he's about as solid and rounded as it gets. Also, don't forget Joyner. his value just sky-rocketed with all the safeties and CBs off the board.

Well at this point I would scratch DE/DT off your board. Easley fills both those spots and we should not invest any more capital on the DL as we have other needs and you need to rely on your first picks to be first picks.

In round 2 & 3 I am looking for a TE or OL but idealy TE if ASJ falls. I would like a LB or SS later but it is a bit too early to do that at pick 62.

BB seems to be aggressive this year. I am almost expecting a trade up to grab a player.

I think the biggest thing I am looking at is the decision Houston makes with their QB situation; do they address it at 33? I think they should go BPA.

As for us, I see TE or LB being addressed in the 2nd round. I think trader Bill comes out and makes a couple moves... maybe up maybe down.

Safeties are flying off the board, so I think we pretty much stand pat with what we have on the roster unless we grab a guy like KPL.

Would love to see us come away with Niklas/ASJ and Kirksey/Tripp. Niklas might be my favorite prospect in the entire draft.

Way later in the draft, I have a feeling BB is gonna double dip with Florida and pick up Trey Burton. At least I hope.

With Bucannon and Shazier gone, I'm all for KPL's speed and explosiveness at LB and in the box safety. Although on day three or round three depending on what we fill in round two.

Get me ASJ in the next round and I'm happy. I'll still be happy with Amaro, CJF or Niklas before day 2 is out.

Going by CBS rankings, and assuming we don't trade up, I would like one of the following at 62:

Weston Richburg
Troy Niklas
Bruce Ellington

I like a few other players more but they all seem likely to have long gone by then. Now, if we end up getting a 3rd round pick for Mallett I might advocate trading up for Van Noy, Latimer or ASJ (who all figure to go by the 50th pick)

Just a hunch, now that my mock is trash, but the Texans could really use a "move-TE." I'm guessing they take Amaro, with Mallett as QB.
The Pats can land a mid-round
QB, like Cornell's Jeff Mathews
with the pick Houston gives up.

Is it reasonable to expect Easley to contribute this year? I'm under the impression that at minimum his on the PUP, and possibly a redshirt year, but maybe I'm overstating his injury.

I need to get back to creating my big boards -- this is too hard to do without them. But assuming Ealy, Lee, and Robinson go off in the first dozen picks or so, my preference would be Terrence Brooks or one of the Moncrief/Adams/Matthews/Bryant WRs in the second. Then in the third we're looking at Vereen/Southward if we miss out on Brooks, otherwise Preston Brown, Carl Bradford, Richburg/Martin, or Murray/Mettenberger if they're still around.

This is a good time to get another pick, but I'm still not seeing a Mallett deal, unless we can get another QB like Glennon on the cheap.

Patriots are set up to absolutely kill this draft. Penetrating DT/DE=check. TE anyone?

If Nix somehow fell and we got him to pair with Easley I would be over the moon. That would give us an elite interior rusher with an elite run stuffer for hopefully the next decade. I don't think there is much chance it happens but stranger things have certainly happened in the NFL draft. There is still so much talent on the board that we are going to get a really good football player no matter what direction we go at 62.

Easley could start on PUP if we really want to wrap him in cotton wool but I think it's unlikely. He got the all clear from doctors a couple of weeks ago and was said to be at 80% at his pro day a month ago. He should be ready to go by training camp and definitely September.

OL is the sweet spot for me. I'm hoping Richburg is there at 62. I've got 10 guys with Round 2 possibilities. A bunch of wr's too. Don't like the te's. We ain't winning it without Gronk. We've got 2 slot receivers in Edelman and Amendola. Just need a blocking te if Gronk is out. Here's my OL.

A. Richardson - T - Tennessee
M. Moses - T - Virginia
C. Kouandijo - T - Alabama
J. Bitonio - T - Nevada
X. Su'a-Filo - G - UCLA
W. Richburg - C - Colorado St
D. Swanson - C - Arkansas
G. Jackson - G - Miss St
J. Mewhort - T - Ohio St
M. Martin - C - USC
