Worthless change to the draft process

I hope Clowney picks some unfiltered crazy gangsta rap to greet Goodell.

Khalil Mack's Return of the Mack too obvious?

Unfortunately most of the many changes they have made to the draft process have been worthless like pushing it back two weeks and making it three days.

They had to push it back this year because of Easter being so late in the year. If they didn't, they wouldn't have been able to use Radio City Music Hall. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing it held in the different cities.. The NHL does that and I went one year. It was great because the players in attendance actually came out into the stands and did meet and greet..

Do you want to build a snowmannnnnnnnnnnnnnn cmon lets go and playyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.......

That is their excuse even though the event that was scheduled for Radio City Music Hall on Easter was canceled because of lack of interest. The NFL could have forced them to cancel the other event. But word is they are considering to move the draft even later into May next year, possibly the end of May.

Guessing the musical taste of many draftees, I hope their are lots of F bombs and references to hoes.

I can't see how this changes anything at all. They have to book and make plans in advance. When an organisation of this size make plans they are pretty set. They can't suddenly move the draft two weeks earlier because the location suddenly became available. When the date is set it is set.

I am saying it was not a big event if it was cancelled due to lack of interest and the NFL could have easily had that weekend if they wanted. Not saying moving the draft once the event was cancelled, I am saying using their leverage with Radio City to force the other event to move their weekend. I think Goodell is using that event as an excuse to move the draft into May (which was rumored their plan before this scheduling conflict was announced) by blaming a scheduling conflict.

I posted a tweet yesterday that three reliable separate league sources say that the NFL is considering moving the draft to mid to late May next year even though they haven't even considered whether they are going to stay in NYC next year. I think even if the date was open, the NFL would have moved the draft this year. They want it in May so there is a major event in every month of the off season.

Great...more murder/rape/drug dealing gangsta rap to pollute the viewing audience households...brilliant. I'm not watching anyway, first time in 50 years I am not watching any of this dog and pony bullshyt.

As a person who works in a big event place and sets up these type of events and shows, it doesn't work that way at all. All the contracts have strict writing in them and huge financial penalties for events canceled/forced to move by the Venue. Radio City Music Hall doesn't need the NFL so Radio City would not bow to pressure. NFL moves the draft, Radio City will just get another event in there.

How long has the draft been televised?
This is a real question because I never had cable TV before 2004 when I moved out of Boston area antenna range.

1980 was first time ESPN televised it complete.

And when you think it can't get worse, Goodell show up saying "SURPRISEEEEE"

Whether or not they could move the other event or not, I still think it is a BS excuse they are using for moving the draft into May. Are we even sure that the other even was even booked before the NFL booked the date in May?

It is a little convenient that word was the NFL was considering a permanent move of the draft into May and all of the sudden there is a scheduling conflict that forces them to move the draft into May? And if the rumors are true that the 2015 draft is moved to mid or late May and possibly another state, it will be because of another scheduling conflict over Easter?

It was because I remember well before it even came out reporters were saying NFL will have push up or back the NFL draft because of events being booked.

Easter is April 5th in 2015 so it won't even come into play.

I could be wrong but New York City might have one or two other venues capable of hosting the draft. It's not like it's always been at RCMH.

Yes it has only been host since 2006. Use to be at MSG theater, but once MSG management went against NYJ stadium NFL moved out and won't be back while James Dolan is still around.

Goodell should have his own theme song to Vince McMahon's "No Chance in Hell" theme and stroll out onto the Radio City stage all like...
