Will Stevan Ridley be a Patriot in 2014?

Kevin faulk had a fumbling problem his first few years, I bet one of the main things you remember about him these days is he never fumbled. none in his final 6 years here.

Rethink your thread.

Faulk had 4 fumbles in his last 6 years in New England. And in his last 2 years he had a total of 40 touches. Touches per fumble in his career:

1999 - 43
2000 - 43
2001 - 54
2002 - 123
2003 - 60
2004 - 52
2005 - 28
2006 - 58
2007 - 111
2008 - No fumbles
2009 - 110
2010 - No fumbles (14 touches)
2011 - No fumbles (26 touches)

Rethink your facts.

OK, i'll rethink..

First 5 years 10 fumbles, next 8 1 fumble, 2 if you want to count postseason and no I'm not looking at receiving, everyone gets popped while not seeing it coming and loses a few. But if you want to go there. 15 lost in the first 5 years and 5 for the next 8

Point still stands, fumbling is curable. If I remember right he was made to carry a ball around all the time and people would randomly try to smack it out of his hands. Give ridley a ball to babysit 24/7

Hopefully, his fumbling is somewhat curable, because I think we all see the obvious talent that exists with Ridley otherwise.

I still expect him to fumble next season, but if he can limit that to one/two fumbles that could be spread out and justified (as Belichick agreed to when Polamalu hit him), it will show improvement. That improvement could allow us to retain him next spring at a reasonable cost, and go a long way towards putting his problem in the past.

OTOH--if he does not improve on this, it could seriously doom his career, and hurt his chances on the open market come next March.

Ridley is a really good player and I think he is going to have a great season. I would love to see them get an extension done early with both he and Vereen.
