I wonder if Pacioretty goes wide along the boards near Chara?

At least with the NFL playoff nerves of the game last one day. NHL playoffs can last from 4 games to 28 game days. Already nervous. 4 hours before puck drop. I hate the friggin Habs

just giving away the game tonight....no urgency just like game 1 vs det

Carey Price has been immense for the Canadiens. Hopefully the Bruins can sneak 1 more past him.

watching ot is agony. they have come so close.

%$@!#&*@$%!!!!!!!!

the bruins really missed dennis seidenberg tonight. and adam mcquaid. bartkowski and krug were awful in the defensive end.

Subban does SFA for 2 months and nets 2 goals tonight on the back of a couple of silly Bruins penalties. It's painful watching the better team lose. Well played by Montreal. They hung in there when the Bruins started turning the screws.

i saw that coming a mile away..they deserved to lose...all of the missed chances to net 5+ goals tonight did them in

Game 2 now must win

Bartkowski is easily the worst player on the ice.....a human turnover machine who makes horrible decisions. The sad thing is if they bench him and bring in Meszaros instead.....then the Bruins will have replaced the worst player with the slowest player.
As far as game #1 goes.....this was the type of game you wish the team had a finisher or two on the roster. So many amazing scoring opportunities and yet the team had to rely on D slapshots thru screens. During the Detroit series, the Bruins had quite a few odd man breaks and EVERY time the player with possession chose to shoot instead of pass.....the grinder/get the rebound mentality.
We'll see how this series develops...but first indication is that Montreal plays a more wide open style that will present opportunities for both teams. Based on the Bruins sucktitude in shootouts/breakaways/odd man rushes, Montreal has the "finisher" edge and Tukka will need to stand on his head......which he didn't do last night
Last night, Bruins should have won 8-2 given their domination on ice except at finishing and goal keeping.
The bright note...the B's took Detroit's best shot in their game one and designed a better plan to slow down Detroit's speed....Hopefully Claude can figure out the Habs as well. Till Saturday....playoff hockey is the best

C'mon @borg, credit where it's due. Carey Price kept the Habs in the contest. From my casual observation, he was clearly the best man on the ice. The Bruins should have won by a wide margin. Price ensured that did not happen.

I hate those game, we completely dominated the game, played aggressively, played to win. Montreal took advantage of their chances and just tried to hang on.

Bruins in 6

Sure 50+ saves is a big number but Price didn't have to dazzle to make those stops. In fact he was lucky the Bruins didn't put 8 in the back of the net. Hit posts, hit cross bars, pucks sliding across the mouth of the goal, Bruins whiffs on great assist passes. There are games when you know a goalie can't be beat....and this was not one of them. The lack of finishing skills by the B's was the takeaway from this game.
As my posting record on the Pats board will attest, I'm the last person that would ever be labelled as a home town homer, I just give you what I think and despite the 50+ saves, I absolutely believe Price was shaky and very beatable, but the Bruins just couldn't finish.
PS.....Tukka was worse than Price....that can't be argued. For some reason, Tukka seemed deeper in his net than usual which gave the Habs a bigger net....and they took advantage with their few chances....the B's failed there multiple chances

the bruins don't need a sniper or a finisher as you call it. this isn't the bruins team of old. they score plenty of goals. they just need their injured players back. this was the type of game that makes you think peter chiarelli should have done more at the trade deadline to improve the defense. krug and bartkowski were exposed on defense.

Price was lucky those puck didn't bounce 5 cm the other way or they would be calling for his head in MTL...

Yes he kept them in it...but he easily could have give up 6 goal. So i am not worried about them not being able to break him
