Why hasn't anyone signed this guy yet?

He played all 16 games in '06 though, recording 96 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 picks. I don't think he's still suffering from that 2005 injury.
I wonder if he's asking for to much?

Or maybe there are other issues of a confidential nature that makes teams shy away like the Stallworth ones. Just my opinion and with no inside knowledge, it's pure speculation.......

It's not the injury so much as the way he suffered it.

it doesnt really matter though because i dont think we have the money to sign now any way. the draft is going to take 5-7 million away leaving us with about 3-4 million. they'll save that 3-4 for next year.

From what I understand Hamlin was at a club with his teammates, and his girlfriend. Hamlin was exiting with his girlfriend, put his hand on some guys shoulder and said "excuse me". The guy said Hamlin pushed him, and started a fight. As Hamlin and this guy fought some other guy (who was not involved with the initial altercation) ran up and hit Hamlin over the head with a road sign. then four men commenced beating the living tar out of him, and hitting him with the road sign.

I don't think he's had other incidents or drug problems, so maybe that was just a bad circumstance. If he isn't a bad apple and he is now healthy (he should be considering his play in '06) I would give him a shot.

My questions are: Does he wants to much money? Does anyone know if Seattle had any talks with him? Would he play for a minimal contract, or does he want something simular to what Deon Grant received from the Seahawks? I'd give him a 1.5M-2M contract, but that's probably not enough..

Hamlin is a player i really want/wanted. Hes a big hitter and hes not like Roy Williams in coverage..hes good in coverage..ball hawk and will lay the wood.

yup, the guy can hit, and he's a FS with coverage skills.

i think hed be better at SS. The reason he was a FS is because boulware sucks bad in coverage

I'm surprised at not much talk about Ken Hamlin I have watched him since college at the University of Arkansas and the guy is a very good football player and whatever team picks him up I think will be getting a good player
and I would be more than happy if it was the Patriots but I'm happy with the moves they have made so far and getting him would just be icing on the cake to me but he is a hitter in the Kenoy Kennedy and Rodney Harrison mold so it will be interesting when the activity starts to heat up with Hamlin.

icing on the cake indeed. It'd make it hard to be excited about the drafted players. While I don't want to miss summer, I am SO looking forward to the season.

wow that is a nasty hit.
what a picture props to the photographer
WTF Stallworth you gotta hang on to the ball I dont care how hard your getting hit.:D

The way this market has gone, Hamlin's got to be seeking in the $4/yr range minimum. Add in the bonus of $6-8mil (minimum) and Hamlin's probably out of our range at this point when you figure someone out there has already offered to overpay him and Hamlin's just cooling his heels waiting for more action to develop.

Though not as good as a Harrison in his prime, Hamlin's much closer to a Rodney than to a Mitchell, Hawkins, Sanders, et al. I love Rodney but I'd rate Hamlin a better overall player than Harrison at this point in time. Signing him looks to be the stuff of pipedreams but put him on our D and we'd could match up against anything in the league, including the Ravens.

Hamlin to visit Dallas tomorrow, per Adam Schecter of NFL Network.
Could be good for Patriots if Dallas is no longer looking for a Safety help in the Draft,IMHO.

Nice. I know a number of Dallas fans who think they are going Safety in the first round. I hear Meriweather a lot, Griffin, and Nelson. As you said if the Cowboys signed Hamlin it would probably at least give NE the choice of Merweather, and Griffin. I don't think Nelson gets past the Jags at 17.

Now if Hamlin signs with any of Dallas, Carolina, Jax, or Miami it would leave one less team looking for a Safety.
