That's what Pat Kirwan had to say on Sirius NFL Radio. I've never heard of Sartz before, but he's an OLB who Kirwan thinks can even drop back and play some safety. Measurables are 6'4, 237 lbs., ran a 4.71 at the combine. Startz did 20 bench reps and put in a 4.13 in the shuttle and a 6.85 on the cone drill.

Has good bloodlines apparently as his dad played safety for Oregon State and his grandfather was a boxer.

Kirwan said that if he was in charge of a 3-4 team that he would consider taking Sartz in the 4th round although most prognostications have him going around the 6th.

He might be a good fit if we miss out on DeOssie. It would be sweet to bag them both!

Kirwan is best friends with Pete Carroll at USC.

I believe Sartz actually was a Safety, but they converted him to LB, so he should be able to play Safety. I haven't really thought of Sartz, as a Patriots prospect, though.

Kirwan also worked shortly with Parcells and BB with the Jets in 1997. Also Kirwan has said on the radio that a few years ago he spent time with the Pats during the draft process (whatever that's supposed to mean).

he's on my board at LB, the last guy on my short list of guys i like (i posted this in one of the LB threads).

I actually like Oscar Lua as an UDFA, or a seventh round pick. He's a good run stuffer.

I took a look at Sartz around the Combine since at 6'4" he has the frame to develop. The caution flag went up when I read he wasn't considered to be a physical player. DeOssie has that knock too and has better measurables, so my "maybe the Pats can turn this kid into a ravening LB monster" choice went to DeOssie for the head start he has.

He is off my draft board ... he has some affliliation with an Arian group of players on the Trojans (Big Red Flag)... besides he is incredibly slow footed.

Seems to be a 6-7 rounder who has as many negitives as he does positives. However, most of his negitives seem to be in technique which can be coached.

Looks like a developmental player who has a "sleeper' rating. might be worth one of our many 6th rounders.

It appears that they were trying to be funny and it didn't work. Probably driven by something the saw on Dave Chappelle who is way over the top, but mostly funny.

I doubt if it's serious, dumb, but not serious. I doubt if it hurts his draft status.

He was projected as a 6th or 7th rounder, he doesn't have far to fall.

Bad taste and poor judgement aside I thought he could be a good practice squad player and maaybe fill a role at ILB similar to Phifer.
