We all have our favourite Pats rivalries, but was just wondering which other fixtures do you guys really look forward to. Is it any division matches, or old-dynasty matches or sibling rivalry matches etc.

Mine has got to be the toilet. I mean, especially on cold days where we no longer have to go out to the frigid outhouse.

Mine is Pats-Redskins, since I live in central VA. I wasn't too pleased with our performance in DC 4 years ago, and I'm going up to Foxboro to watch the Pats (finally) beat the Skins.

Did you know that NE hasn't beaten Washington since 1972 and has a 1-6 record all-time against the Skins? Did you also know that this is the only franchise Belichick/Brady haven't beaten as Patriots?

And it's something that seldom gets mentioned-that would, indeed,be a good one.
My favorite match up is the Jets, especially since Mangini's on board. The Colts' matches are always great games of course but I enjoy the Jets games more. Colts games have begun to stress me out lately. Hopefully this year that changes:D

Pitt and Cincy are fun to watch. Any NFC East matchup is a good one. Denver vs either KC or SD is good too. And the Colts- Ravens is heating up a little.

Steelers/Pats was always smashmouth! We had some great ones with them.

I'm with you on that one. I could live without the detachable shower head, but a flush toilet is one fixture I would really not want to give up.

Is there some language issue with the word "fixture" that I am missing here? I am really baffled by this topic. It reminds me of the time in the 3rd grade, many moons ago, when the student teacher asked our class if we "could see father at night or during the day?"

Great response, and thanks. I'd like to know who that student teacher was, because if you're a true Christian, you can see Father equally at all times of the day! God bless you!

While I agree that the toilet is a welcome fixture in my house, how exactly is that Patriots related? :p

If it's matches not involving the Pats - which is what I think you mean from the original message - then there's nothing I look for any longer.

The NFL now fluctuates so much that the heat has been taken out of a lot of rivalries and they don't get the juices flowing on a year-by-year basis. Cowboys-Redskins? Irrelevant sideshow in recent years. Same for a lot of games in the NFC East where traditionally there have been some of the league's hottest rivalries.

So I just take the schedule as it comes and wait for the rivalries between the hot teams. Some of the AFC West stuff in the last couple of seasons has been terrific, Chargers/Broncos, for example, and the clashes of all the big AFC teams: Colts, Steelers, Chargers, Broncos etc

Looking forward to sufficient sides in the NFC getting their act together to start thorwing these big games up. 49ers/Seahawks could become big as the Niners reload.

The original poster is from the UK, where "fixture" is equivalent to "game" or "match".

Steelers/Patriots by far. That's why I loved the '04 season. Pitt handed us our lunch earlier in the year and we came back in the championship and dominated them in another hard hitting game.

EDIT: Sorry. Didn't see the non-Pats part of the thread title. I guess I'm going to have to go with Indy v.s. Pittsburgh. That playoff game two years ago was one of my favorites and since then, a lot of words have been exchanged between both franchises. Plus, they are two totally different styles. Smashmouth v.s. finesse.

I always need to take a dump after games like that last Miami one.

Kinda like the team did *during* the game, right?

why does reading this thread remind me of some conversations i had in the 60's? i think i know what it's about but maybe i missed something or maybe i didn't or...oh, it's all cool man...

Love to watch Colts/Chargers, as the Chargers are one of the few teams that seems to have Indy's number.
