NFL.com Bracketology, Greatest QB of All Time; Should be Brady vs Unitas in the final

It won't be. It's a popularity contest where fans can gain retribution for all the blow out losses Tom has given them. I bet he doesn't make it past round 1.

It's almost a certainty it will be Brady vs Manning in the bracket. It will be interesting to see what happens there. Before Manning had this record-breaking year, Brady was ahead in most national polls I saw on ESPN and by NFL scouts/players.

Though one can also argue that Manning's epic meltdown in the SB hurt his legacy more than the records helped it.

Most people are slaves to the moment. Media can dictate what most people care about most at any given time (Ukraine anyone?). After the Patriots stomped Peyton in 2012 with the no huddle, Tom > Brady was probably more widespread than it had ever been. Last year it swung back. I think more people just have an axe to grind with the Patriots, so I'm not holding my breath for Tom to go far in the fan vote tournament.

how much would you like to bet? You have a paypal account:D

I don't think I picked a single underdog. Then again, I've never claimed to be very educated about football before the early/mid-2000s (pretty convenient time for a kid in New England to be getting into football).

even a fun poll like this gets turned into a Manning obsession on here LOL

Brady and Unitas played in very different eras. It is very hard to compare them but I think we can agree they are the best of their Eras (though Starr was great too)

My top QBs (of the Super Bowl era) are

Montana
Brady
Staubach
Unitas

then maybe

Starr (hard to say.... was great with a limited sample size though)
Young
Elway
Marino
Manning

All competing for the 5th spot.

A Brady vs Favre matchup with both in their prime would have been great to watch ... maybe a game with 90-100 passes.

That's what I was hoping for in SB 45. Unfortunately...

The current top vote-getters at this moment

McNabb- 432k
Bledsoe-335k
Gannon- 274k
E.Manning- 254k
Brady- 244k
Montana 242k
Favre 223k
Wilson 220k
Rodgers 219k

Troll poll??

HTF can Eli lead Brady in votes?

My bad, the huge population of NY and NJ cesspools.

Told ya.

The revenge of the petty and small.

Brady is back ahead of Eli Manning, but Russell Wilson is beating Peyton Manning...

Give this "contest" the attention it deserves.

Troll poll??

LOL am thinking that to. only Montana, marino Elway and young are lock wins right now, looks like people don't want QB's who are still playing or not yet in the HOF to be named the GOAT

People actually care about this?

Brady moved about 30k votes ahead of Eli after being 20k behind, the trolling seems to have stopped.

...Peyton, however, is over 100k votes behind Wilson. :D Pretty similar to the score of the last game they played against each other in.

edit: Oh god, some other results LOL

Bledsoe > Aikman
McNabb > Warner

I'll never understand how people can compare players/athletes from different eras and say this person is the best, or that person, etc. And that goes for all sports.

Makes no sense!
