Re: Inexecusably Bad Offseason Decision (re: Adalius Thomas....'s jersey number.)

I love it when someone makes a post like this jokingly and incites a whole bunch of geniuses to fall all over themselves trying to get into a high horse and tell him how moronic his statement was.

Brilliant!
oh its so funny i just cant stop laughing please no more posts its just to damn funny i just cant stop laughing

You know... I always thought the whole "/sarcasm" meme was a lame joke, but I now actually see it has legitimate utility.

It was already known that he would wear 96 and that Welker would wear 83.

nothin wrong with a player taking pride in his #.the player makes the # ;)

Whatever dude. People take jersey numbers way too seriously.

Numbers have a pretty big psychological effect on players. Call it luck or whatever, but they take them seriously. Some numbers make a player "feel slow" or "feel bigger". The mental aspect of the game is huge.

Can someone bring us up to speed on the "tightness" level of these numbers?
Thank You in advance.

Re: Jersey Numbers Assigned

I would assume so... since Chad Jackson wears 17. 18 should be available.

There's probably a decent shot that number 17 will be available

Are you kidding me?

Archives is the self-appointed tightness guru of the board, though I have to say from my own point of view, 96 is extremely tight. I will add that if we find "AD" too bland, we can start calling him "96 Tears."

I'll add that in kabbala (and thus, in folk numerology throughout the Jewish world,) 18 is considered quite auspicious, because the value of the hebrew letters that spell the word "Chai" (life) add up to 18. So numerologically speaking, 18 is a go in at least one culture. But bear in mind this is the culture that produced both myself and Jay Fiedler. Multiples of 18 are also considered auspicious, however, and 54 seems to have worked out well for the Pats.

I think 80 will be open, even if Troy does not come back, plus they have never given 11 out either, Buffalo could not wait to give 11 to Rosco Parish after Drew left Buffalo...

Thanks for bringing back memories of growing up with my Orthodox Jewish stepfather who spent way too much time on numerology charts.

Pot, meet kettle.

Josh Miller also says hi. :)

"96 Tears"-I like that one! Very cool if the song got played after AD's sacks :)

If 80 isn't retired,it should be held out as a sign of respect for Troy but I'm still hoping this means Troy will be back.

Oh HELL yes, especially playing the Chargers. Does that guy dance in the "96 tears" black and white video?

Pujo, it was not done by me, but through me, baruch ha shem.

Hi back to Josh Miller. Oh yeah, and a shout out to my brother Andre Tippett!

Okay I'm just envisioning now... If he even starts to get to a visiting QB, how cool would it be, to add to fan noise, to have the PA loudly playing "you're gonna cry... 96 tears... you're gonna cry..."
