If he was playing with fire and determination to try and get paid, I'd have hopes that he would. If he wants a multi-year deal his past loafing ways would give me significant pause.

1 year deal is something we should re evaluate, it only hurts the team because everybody aside ochocinco makes a good film here and then go get the big bucks on the market.

Yes - you want to be able to lock a guy in for year 2 - at which point if he's worth that salary you negotiated for year 2 you extend him anyways

Kindof like Stallworth a few years back. Signed a reasonable Year 1 contract - but had a $6 million roster bonus due before free agency. With Moss established as the #1 WR there was no way he was staying at that price - good insurance but with Moss they didn't need him.

Had Moss flamed out and Stallwroth done well, they still would have reduced that cap hit by extending him - but he was locked in regardless.

That's the hope, and exactly what I was thinking as well.

Of course, there's always the possibility that they only have 2 options that they're considering just as well.

#1 keeping Talib, and #2 using Dennard, Ryan, and Arrington with the addition of another draft choice OR using the money on safety instead.

Wait, I lost track. I think that's officially 3 options

Not sure if Jets have had contact with his camp yet, but they've expressed interest in Verner. Pretty much says that Cro is already gone. They're shopping for his replacement and won't pay both.

#Jets have inquired about Titans CB Alterraun Verner, as @BrianCoz noted. Strictly a contingency if things fall apart w/ Cromartie.

Report I am hearing is that Hakeem Nicks is very interested in playing for New England on a 1 year prove it deal.
