Any and all info can be posted here. First up, my favorite round one Safety:

Reggie Nelson

Nelson met individually with 27 of 32 teams at the combine in Indianapolis. He also has a private workout scheduled with New England coach Bill Belichick on Thursday and plans to visit about 20 other teams before the draft.

Add Florida LB -- Earl Everett to the list:
On Thursday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick and general manager Scott Pioli will have Nelson and linebacker Earl Everett go through a private workout at Florida.

good news, I like this Nelson kid. He could become a starter in no time.

Based solely on the news to date, I wouldn't exactly say the Pats have a high probability of drafting him ..

EDIT: More importantly, both the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots have shown particularly strong interest in Nelson.

Hmm. That is indeed evidence, of a kind. Or it could be a smokescreen, if they've already decided he lacks the brains ...

Wed, 14 Mar 2007 18:48:59 -0700

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports Kent State CB Usama Young has already had a one-on-one workout with the New England Patriots.

Player Position Gil's comments
Usama Young CB Young (5-11, 196) ran the 40 in 4.39 and 4.40 seconds. He also notched a 43-inch vertical, a 10-foot-11 broad, a 4.31 short shuttle, a 6.65 three-cone drill and 15 bench presses.

^Pro Day

id definatley take a look at him :)

The Jaguars have already worked him out privately and taken him to 4 star restaurants. Add that to their having more Gators than any other team (including us), and I think it's safe to assume Reggie will not be around at #24.

Oh, and they lost Deon Grant.

Patriots | Timmons will work out for team
Thu, 15 Mar 2007 17:40:44 -0700

Steve Ellis, of the Tallahassee Democrat, reports Florida State LB Lawrence Timmons will work out for the New England Patriots Friday, March 16.

Albert Breer of the Herald reporting that the Pats will be in Nebraska next working out DEs Adam Karriker and Jay Moore and LB Stewart Bradley.

Also quoting a report from the West Lafayette Journal and Courier that Purdue LB Anthony Spencer will be getting a visit in April.

Seneschal2 awesome thread. I was looking for one of these.

Could you edit your first post as the news comes in? That way we won't have to scroll through the soon to be 1000 posts ITT :)

Can't. You can only edit a post for a few hours. Then it's permanent. Just open up the last page of the thread and pick up where you left off.

Auburn receiver in crosshairs
Posted by Albert Breer at 5:05 pm

According to agent Joel Segal, the Patriots have taken a serious liking to Auburn receiver Courtney Taylor and will send new receivers coach Nick Caserio to The Plains next week for a private workout. Taylor ran a 4.49 and 4.52 in the 40, broad jumped 10-foot-7 and posted a 35-inch vertical at the Tigers’ Pro Day on March 12, while checking in at 6-1 1/2 and 205 pounds.

Taylor’s known as a smooth, agile athlete who gets in and out of his breaks well and runs precise routes. Lacking top-end speed, he’s expected to be a possession receiver in the pros, and is considered a great blocker in the run game. The Patriots may have a shot at him with their third-round pick (92nd overall), or even on the second day.

Segal also mentioned that the team hasn’t taken a serious look at LSU S LaRon Landry, a player who’d be a perfect fit, because he simply will be out of their reach on draft day.

On the Booker Workout...

Pats to work out Booker
Posted by Albert Breer at 10:08 am

On his diary at Warchant.com (Rivals subscription required), Florida State RB Lorenzo Booker said that he’ll work out privately for the Patriots on Friday morning, following the Seminoles Pro Day tomorrow.

Booker added that it’ll be the only private workout he’ll do, since he’s returning to his home state of Calfornia thereafter and teams are only allowed to put prospects through the individual paces in the state in which they attended college before the in-house visits begin. A versatile scatback, Booker is not unlike former Seminoles Warrick Dunn, Travis Minor and Leon Washington, in that he’s not big (5-10, 191) but can bring a lot to an offense. He ran a 4.46 at the combine and could fit as a multifaceted threat alongside Laurence Maroney.

“I’m going to workout at receiver so they know that I can run routes and make me more valuable,” Booker wrote in the Warchant entry. “Hearing something and seeing it are completely different things. I’m going to show them what I already know. They never got to see me run routes. I know most of them will be looking at me because having a guy on the team, Reggie (Bush), Leon, (Brian) Westbrook are invaluable. You can’t find those guys under a rock.”
