This is a good time to ask this question so i will post it now, who are the four faces on the Patriot's Mt. Rushmore? People can nominate their four and we can have a final poll later to come up with the Final Four.

Here are mine:

Bill Belichick - The Greatest coach in NFL history. The architect of the Patriots Dynasty, and the person most responsible for the greatest team of the salary cap era.

Tom Brady- The GOAT. He already has 3 rings and will go down as the greatest play-off QB of all time, and may well end up with the most wins of any QB of all time as well as the best winning % of all time. Over 100 games over .500 already and he still has some years left to add to the achievements.

Bob Kraft- This was the toughest call for me as it meant leaving off a truly great player but his role in saving football from disaster put it over the top for me. He basically forced Orthwein to sell and saved the team from moving to St. Louis and then made the decision to bring in Belichick despite a high price in draft picks, which turned out to be the decision that made them what they are today, one of the NFL's all time great franchises.

Andre Tippett- Another really tough call as I originally had this spot saved for John Hannah, however the greatest offensive player in Patriots history has already been given a spot on the Mt. and it only seems right that there should be a place for the greatest defensive player in Patriot's history, and that honor goes to Andre Tippett, who while never getting a ring was one of the most dominant linebackers of his era and a HOF Patriot.

In all likelihood Belichick and Brady will be consensus choices and if that is the case then we can have a run off for the remaining two choices once the nominations are all in and clearly defined.

The NFLN is having Dynasty Month and the Patriots were named one of the five all time NFL Dynasties, as part of this they appear to be naming a MT. Rushmore for every team so I felt it would be appropriate for us to do it first.

Brady can't rush more then anyone......

Sergio Brown
Earthwind Moreland
Hugh Millen
Devin Wyman

Sticking with just players:

Tom Brady
John Hannah
Gino Cappelletti
Andre Tippett

The top 3 are easy

BB
Brady
Tippet

The 4th is very tough, I don't think Kraft should be there
Tedy Brushci - but please feel free to rip me for this one, there's probably a few other equal guys who can make it

Going with anyone, I say:

Kraft
Belichick
Brady
Hannah

Going with just players:

Brady
Hannah
Tippett
Bruschi

Sergio Brown
Earthwind Moreland
Hugh Millen
Devin Wyman

Bizarro Mt. Rushmore!!

Mine would be

Victor Kiam
Clive Rush
Monty Beisel
Zeke Mowatt

My "serious" list

Brady
Belichick
Kraft
Hannah

Players only:

Brady
Hannah
Tippett
Bruschi

Would consider Haynes over Bruschi but for a Mount Rushmore of players I'd stick with guys that didn't leave mid-career to one of their worst enemies

Going with just players:

Brady

Tippett

Hannah

Wilfork

I love Bruschi and would have him Law, Haynes, Morgan, and possibly Coates in contention for the last spot but imo the player should be a HOF caliber player and unfortunately Bruschi doesn't meet that criteria. Wilfork may not make the HOF but imo he should, he has been one of the most dominant defensive lineman of this era and has required double teams his entire career. you won't rack up the numbers that way but your contribution to the overall team is huge.

I can't improve one bit on that list or the contenders, so let me offer up a non-player list of;

Billy Sullivan - Without him there's no such thing as a New England Patriot.
Bill Belichick - The man most responsible for all those Lombardis and the silence of the laughter that came with them.
Bob Kraft - The man who cleaned up the old yard, on and off the field.
Dante Scarnecchia - I can't think of anyone who was responsible for as much of our team's success as he was.

My player list:

locks:

Brady
Hannah

For those who left Hannah of their list, he was named to the NFL 75th anniversary team and is arguable the best guard in the history of the NFL.

my picks:

Tippett
Antwine

Brady, Belichick, Bruschi all smiling and then Manningface.

Sam Bam Cunningham!
Harold "ACTION" Jackson
Stanley STEAMER Morgan!
Steve "had a house in Norfolk" Nelson!
Brian Holloway!
Vincent "THE UNDERTAKER" Brown!
Russ Francis

And many more!

Bizarro Mt. Rushmore!!

Mine would be

Victor Kiam
Clive Rush
Monty Beisel
Zeke Mowatt

No love for the "great" Ken Sims or Chris Canty?

Serious Mt Rushmore - I would have to concur with Brady/Belichick/Kraft/Hannah.

Would have loved to find room for Drew Bledsoe somewhere. Maybe "Hill" Rushmore?
