Stunningly OT: US - Russia Hockey Game - Best Ever

Have to rally in the third or Canada is going 2-0 against the U.S. in the last couple of days.

oh geez....now you just rang the PC Air Raid....INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Spend any time in Quebec and you'll see what I mean.
Know what you mean. Not the friendliest place I've ever been. Of course, my Midwestern friends nearly all make their same observation about Boston.

Jesus, you're right. Better delete. Didn't mean you're Jesus, you're Joker...

Your Midwestern friends are correct (I've lived in both places). But the Quebecers (Quepeckers) make a point of it.

Gawd this is a boring game. The Americans can't get any decent shots off.

wonder how much putin paid for all those russian fans in the stadium

Well that sucked.

It was a great effort, but Canada was the better team today, their defense was too strong and the Getlaf-Benn-Perry line killed us.

Canada has to win gold for it to be a success for them. Sweden won't be easy

A one-sided 1-0 defensive game. Hockey at its worst. :bricks:

maybe it's just me but that game was very entertaining. I love defense in hockey.

Sweden is also stacked

Hard to root against bergeron. He's Canada's best forward and yes, he's better than crosby

A defensive game is fine if both teams are getting shots off. This was a 1-0 blowout.

Good game guys. Not a great game, but it was fast-paced and well-played by both sides. Both teams skated hard.

It really can be a game of inches. Think about the women's game when that empty-net shot hit the post. One more inch and it's a gold medal clincher. Today, that puck slid between Price's legs and just wide of the net. Had him beat but it didn't go in.

I feel like Canada played their best game of the tournament, while the US didn't, and that was the difference. It's kind of scary to think that wasn't the best game the US has played, because it was pretty damn good.

The Toews line did a great job in shutting down the Kessel line. I thought Bylsma should have done more in that regard; he shuffled the line combinations a bit, but the US was the "home" team and had last line change and could have moved Kessel away from Toews. That wasn't the only reason for the loss, but maybe something Bylsma would do differently.

Past US teams have had stars, but the depth of the past few teams has been amazing. Paul Martin gets injured and you plug in a solid player in Faulk. 2010 Olympics MVP Ryan Miller can't even start for you guys anymore.

The US program has come a long way and there's no doubt there's a gold medal coming in the near future. So while today may suck, it's just another brick in a solid foundation and you guys have a lot to look forward to.

Like Eddie said...USA had about 8-9 SOLID chances to put it home. Price made that amazing save with the glove and left pad. Puck also just grazed outside of the right post in the 2nd.

They were shot down by D..but still had almost 10 chances and the 1st easily could have ended 3-2 Can. Can was clearly the better team.

Parise played a great game. That entire line was great. Quick is just amazing. Talk about the right choice in net...what a stud. They shuffled the lines too late. SHould have done it much earlier

Bergeron has been making all the idiots in Canada who didn't want him on the team look really stupid. He's been the most consistent forward by far and was awesome today.
